I see what you mean. I'd say you only get 7GB on activation. Stretches the meaning of an inclusion when you have to recharge to get the 8GB bonus. Tricky Optus as usual.

Last time i bought data sim from them and they sent me one that already open and not able to activate. When i try to activate it before i go into labour so i can use in the hospital. They are not reliable. Their answer to me is. you need to get it change at the store. When i'm trying to activate the sim, my water already broke.

It's a starter kit so the credit can only go towards one of 3 available plans, on the webpage.
I bought this for optus perks - 186 days as i can't find any decent hoyts deals anywhere else.

The SIM is generic. There's an expiry date on the voucher that's emailed to you. Check the thread about this deal for typical use before dates. I think the latest mentioned was 31/1.
That's why I recommend being cautious about expiry dates. The Optus starter kits may have the dreaded Activate within 30 days sticker.
Might be useful for me. I actually need to use a phone on the Optus network for incoming calls only, so the Long Expiry plan would be ideal. Thanks OP.
