  Handbrake is free and pretty decent. Although one version did ship with malware some months ago…

    I've used handbrake a couple of time. The interface was chaotic and google had to rescue me every couple of clicks. I'm sure pros know exactly how it works but for an amateur converter like me simplicity of UI is preferred as long as malware doesn't tag along.
