Breville BES920 Dual Boiler Coffee Machine $799 ($699 with The HN Amex Offer) + Delivery or Free Pickup @ Harvey Norman

610

Part of the HN sale, great price on the Breville BES920, including the Amex offer, brings it to almost the lowest I've ever seen on the machine. Probably better value to get this and the smart grinder over the Oracle, have had the pleasure to own one of these for over 3 years, this thing is a beast!

    damn 2 x amex even better :O

  • +2

    600 with two amex. tempting

    • Can you confirm HN staff allow you to split payment across two separate cards?

      • +2

yes you can do split payment. Did it last year.

  • Hmmm didnt register for the Amex deal. Wonder if its better to wait for the combo with the SG for less than $1000.

    • I'm waiting, @800 without Amex you'd have to time the grinder, considering cheapest its ever been is 170 or so i'd just get the combo.

      • Im actually going to go in-store tomorrow to see what deal I can do, $799 is a good starting point. If they can throw in the grinder for a total of $950 ill be happy.

        • Went in-store. Had to point out that $1499 sticker price on the Duo was a joke. Grinder listed at full price of $249. Would only take $9 off. Would have accepted $200, but no. Cant wait till Amazon crushes HVN.

  • Been waiting for these to come on sale. I was hoping to get the BEP920 with the bundled grinder but this looks too good to pass on. Can anyone recommend a good grinder to go with this (<$200)?

    • +2

Ive got both that grinder (BCG820 stainless steel) and this coffee machine (BES920 bought about 1.5 years ago from this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/245494) and they go great together, and look really nice together as well. The grinder is awesome, and so is the coffee machine. If you can get the grinder for $150-$200, buy it (and until then, buy this!)

      • Same, and I reiterate Trishool's comment.

    • Definitely buy this and wait it out for the breville smart grinder, easily obtainable between $150-200

      • second that!! Got them both and are awesome.

  • I'm torn between this and the oracle. But this is so much cheaper.

    • +1

my good mate has the Oracle, this thing produces the same thing, just does not have the grinder in built, for half the price!

    • +1

I would reccomend this over the oracle any day. Just requires a bit more knowledge to use, but would make a much better cup. And is cheaper.
Having the grinder unit separate is good too. Easier to clean. And if either the machine or grinder plays up, you can send them in separately. More manual control is better than full autos at the moment. But won’t be long before technology catches up. There are some really cool fully auto machines coming up…

  • anyone got any comments on this vs the EM7000?

    • +1

The coffee from this is a lot better flavour and the steam pressure for frothing is a lot better than inlaws EM7000 as well, the only plus I see for the Em7000 is that it is quieter.
Get the matching Breville grinder it is a great combo.

      • the only plus I see for the Em7000 is that it is quieter

It's also cheaper and more compact - the latter being the deciding factor for me to get it over this (which I originally wanted instead).

        • +1

Having used and had coffee from both, I would have found any extra room required for the BES920. :)

The difference in size is not huge anyway.

      • I have had both machines and the breville is far quieter.

      • cheers. yeah i actually already have the bcg820 - using it atm with a cheapie em5000 but will probably switch to a full manual machine in the next ~6 months. bes920 looks like it's in pole position atm.

  • No stock in Perth it's all on back order.

  • YASSSSS!!! Thanks OP.
Got the Grinder couple months back, and been waiting for a good price on this!
Can't wait for the weekend to totally OD on caffeine while fine tuning settings!!!

Have this same machine for about 4 years. Amazing unit. Bargain!

  • Hmmm might be needing a new machine. Put my BES870 in for a service and have been told it possible needs a new solenoid, about $300 installed. Considering that model has been as low as $485 it's not really worth repairing for a 2.5yr old machine.

    • +2

      Well, you're convinced. Go, buy!

  • I would buy this if I didn't already have it!

    • ditto!

  • Wait a min, does this include that bonus coffee pack promo?

    • NO i think only the Oracle, but lets be honest, how good can that coffee be, stick with locally roasted beans

      • Yeah I know.. but still worth trying right? I think I'm gonna hold out for a 1k price on the duo, would love to get red or black combo! Goin to bed nighty night :)

  • Tempting…my 3.5 year old Sunbeam Em7000 starting to show some issues.

  • -2

What's the amex deal!?! Please help me get this ASAP been waiting months for this to go on sale! :)

    • registration for the amex deal is already closed unfortunately
($100 credit back for $400+ spend at HN)

      • Dammit!!! Thanks, ended up lay-bying this after work today for 799.. got lucky on the grinder on the Myer deal a couple of months back too.

  • are any of the 'black sesame' model available ?

    • +1

If you mean the black/chrome model harveys told me today that it's available but very hard to secure one as their quite hard to get

      • +1

I'm holding out for a special on the duo red or black, just thought you needed to know that :)

  • This'll also be $800 at Bing Lee starting tomorrow thanks to the 20%. They don't list the duo on their ebay site unfortunately

    • The Duo is literally this machine plus the smart grinder, you can save $$$ purchasing them seperately

  • +1

The BES920 is currently going for $729.20 including delivery at Bing Lee (from this deal). Does anyone know if Harvey Norman would price match this? The Smart Grinder is $208.20 inc. delivery via the same deal so would be great to get both if they price match that too.

    • +3

Just tried to price match Bing's $719.20 at The Good Guys in Adelaide(we don't have BingLee and they won't ship to SA) and they told me to check in tomorrow as it is expected to be much cheaper than their current price of $799. Even though I wanted to buy today the salesdude insisted I wait till tomorrow, they have pallets of stuff for BlackFriday

      • That's promising! Should be much easier to get HN to price match against TGG than Bing Lee's ebay sale.

        • I second this, would rather get from HN cause local warranty, GG is fine too

      • I dont get it, their website says "Black Friday Sale Now On" and price is 799..

        • It says more deals added on Friday, so maybe it will be reduced tomorrow?

        • @Camembert: I'm watching it eagerly, gotta get this deal so hanging off Valvster's inside info!

        • Just got an email from TGG about their Black Friday deals so pricing for today should be live. Checked the website and the BES920 is still listed at $799. I reckon that might be as good as it's going to get…

        • @abuxto2: If thats the case then Bing Lee is better but what about Velsters comment.. The rep specifically told him not to buy at that price on the machine

        • +1

@abuxto2pulled the trigger, i cant hang off all day hoping they'll magically reduce. Did ring them and he reckoned it's as low as they go also. So wanting to buy it local I used the Ebay 10% and got Bes for 719 @ GG. Bought the grinder from ebay Bing lee at the best price too. Let me know how you went Abuxto. Gotta go cya man

        • @ninjataki: Glad I waited! I ended up buying both from the Bing Lee deal after they reduced the price to $799. Total for both was $817.40 and I still have the HN AMEX deal to use on something else.

        • @abuxto2: ohno XD, havent picked up yet.. do GG refund easy??

        • @abuxto2: Well I coulda got refund but chose to stick with the local, she convinced me on $30 extra for 5 year replacement on anything. though there's $20 back per quarter promo on that also. Abuxto are you going to use water filtration? I'm going for a Brita filter with softener, plumbed to the machine and also to main tap. Heard it's worthwhile in preventing scale etc.

        • @abuxto2: in the end I took it back and got the same deal as you lol. GG gave wrong info on that warranty, led me to believe it was full replacement when in fact thats for items under $500.

  • Well….Valvster flopped out on this one…all the saleschild could offer was a good price on the smartgrinder which I already have. I tried several harvey's and they would not budge either. This is the what I was really after (BZ10) https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/manual-coffee-machines/?… until the dual boiler bargain sucked me in. I now have dollars left over for decent grinder.

    • Bing lee has it for $160 check it out, the smart grinder

      • I have one already, bought it when it first came out…time to upgrade to something that doesn't clump.

    • You sure did do a belly flop mate :) I hung out, trusting your advice on the GG thing but it all fell through. Rang them myself to double check and he reckons that Adelaide shop didn't have a clue lol. Still got from them though with using the ebay 10% off.

Just a heads up that it has now been reduced on the Bing Lee ebay page, $639.20 with coupon code!
