      COMPLETELY MISSED THAT :O Thanks!!!

On a plus side it's only my 464th deal.

  • +1

    Good price!

  • +6

Don't let the color put you off if your contemplating buying it. In my opinion, it looks more silver then actual gold and barely noticeable in a good case.

  • +1

Can anyone recommend a good and cheap tempered glass screen protector for this?

    • +1
      • That is for the Redmi 4, 4A and 4x, not the Note 4X.

        • +1
        • +1

          @altomic:
Do you know if this tempered glass adheres completely to the screen? I've read** that this full-screen glass with the coloured bezel only has adhesive on the bezel part and not the glass, rendering it less sensitive to touch.

I have the bezel-less tempered glass which when applied to my screen, leaves a 3mm border all around which doesn't stick to the screen.

        • @RoughMetaphors: I guess for a phone roughly 10% of compare to iphone x, I wouldn't worry about the bezel of 3mm border on the screen protector.

        • @RoughMetaphors:

leaves a 3mm border all around which doesn't stick to the screen

Same, its pretty ugly isnt it, ruins the look of the phone.

Ironic since I guess they did the radiused screen edge to make it look slick but thats why they need to inset the standard glass protectors by a couple mm from the radiused edge

Is this for new accounts only? I can't get the price to work, showing AUD $ 184.64 / USD $ 132.98 in cart after following that rewards link.
Now it says "sorry you've already claimed your reward" :/

    • +2

can you find the rewards on checkout page? the final price will be $127.98 after you use 5$ off 89$ rewards on check out page.

      • ah ok it's showing up now. before it just had the shipping options and then payment, but now there's the promo option under payment ones. perhaps there was a delay.

      • All good working now.

  • +9

    Miku!!!

    • There's a Miku special edition of the Redmi Note 4X, I don't think that seller is offering it though.

  • Do these work no dramas straight out the box? Want to buy as a pressy for non tech type person and I’m no help as I know even less. Have read some are a global version. Does this need that to work ok here?

    • +5

hi mate, this is global rom, so can work ok on AU. and if your order have any problem, welcome to pm me here. i'm always online

      • Champion. Will get one.
        Cheers.

      • Is 33 business days accurate with the free shipping option?

        • normally 3-5 weeks, due to recent big sale, so might delayed some order. if your order not send out in 3 days, pm me to check your order status, and i will do some help.

        • @MiniInTheBox:
Ok thanks. I’m going to have to cough up the extra for the fast shipping so it makes it here before Christmas.

        • +4

          @furiousgeorge:
I just bought a grey one from shopmonk last night for $187 delivered and literally 5 minutes ago received a DHL shipping advice for arrival on 28th Nov.

        • @db1983:
          Cheers, I’ll have a look.

      • +1

can only get it to 177 aud not 169.

any deals on a mi max 2?

  • +1

Can anyone recommend a phone with NFC? my 5X is up shit creek and I absolutely love the Xiaomi offering but I do like the flexibility of using Android Pay.

  • +1

Lightinthebox shipping is so slow compared to banggood and gearbest. It is still within advertised times but it takes around 5-6 weeks everytime for me whilst gearbest and banggood just takes around 2 weeks

    • Think it is more like a lottery thing. I ordered a Leeco s3 x626 from Gearbest almost two weeks ago, and according to the carrier Gearbest is still holding the item.

  • +4

I believe the Redmi Note 5 is due to be announced soon, with January being the usual month of release for the Redmi Note series. It's rumoured to have a 'bezel-less' 18:9 display and dual-camera setup- if it maintains the standard pricing then it looks to be a really awesome phone.

    • If it is bezelless even without true 18:9 ill be happy. I just really like the look of bezelless phones.

  • +7

No NFC, no band 28, apart from that, probably the best bang for buck phone on the planet.

  • Cant get the rewards to come on checkout so I gave up look somewhere else

  • FYI miui is really bad for battery management on this phone. Android system hovers around 80%.I can vouch for this as my wife has one. I would recommend you install a custom rom. Great phone for the money nonetheless. A

    • Never had that issue with MIUI.

      • Pretty common. About 100 threads on the official forum. Also my mum had the same issue on her mi mix. So that's about a 66% failure rate. My phone works fine.

        • Does she have an original Mi Mix? Are they good I was looking at one but other than yourself I have yet to run into anyone that actually owns one. Does she like it?

        • @MrSammyMcG:

Yes the original, Absolutely¡ it is a beast of a phone and very high end for the price. If you are on a budget consider a mi max. I bought myself a Mi 5s Plus. Love Xiaomi but Miui can sometimes be a let down.

        • @wooldogs: thanks for the response yeah I wanted one because they are so attractive and extremely premium for the price like you said. I was planning to put ressurection remix on there too as MiUi is ugly and RR looks breathtaking on a phone like that.

          Look at this: https://youtu.be/eFu1n6oM2FI

        • How odd. How much screen time can you get on your phone. I had 2 + hour screen time yesterday and still had 75% left on the battery. WiFi was on all day and all the usual social media apps running on the background (FB, email apps).

MIUI battery management is actually its strength with the option of killing apps off completely in the battery app management section. Social media apps can be left to standard settings if you want.

My wife also has one. Bought my wife another phone due to the Xiaomi's weak camera (at low light), but after 1-2 weeks, she went back to the Xiaomi as she loved its battery - and she is on it all day.

Have you explored the "manage apps battery usage" section?

        • @x d:

Yes and yes I have tried all that. My Mi 5S Plus lasts 2 days. It is a runaway process within android system causing the issue on some Miui phones. Full wipe and restore can fix.

Their phones also used to last 2 days as well.

Xiaomi works really well with Google Camera. Seen some great comparison shots online.

I will send a screenshot of my wifes battery graph as well as mine.

Here is mine for now: https://imgur.com/a/21Lvp amazing! 84% at nearly 11 hours.

    • Our household has 3 x Redmi Note 3 and 1 x Redmi Note 4x, all have global ROMs out of the box, battery life on all of them is great. With light usage I can get nearly 2 days on my 4x - never got close to that with previous Galaxies.

  • Great phone. I have this as my second phone and its a really great phone.

    Upvote for Hatsune Miku.

hello guys I highly recommend this phone . have been using this phone for more then a year and its rock solid.
    runs everything facebook etc fine

    • +9

Are you sure? I heard you need a $1400 phone to run Facebook!

      • +1

I think you might be right there. This phone can run snake very well

    • +3

      runs everything facebook

      Amazing!

  • I paid $200 for the Redmi Note 4 - 4GB RAM & 64GB storage. It's now coming up as $175.99 on mobile for me, but same price on notebook.

Any original flip case for the 4x that's compatible with this one? (I'm talking about the case that can act as smart cover to turn screen on or off)

  • How to set the region as Australia?
Australia is not in the country list.

    • +3

Since Xiaomi aren't in Australia there is no AU region. I think most people choose Singapore or similar.

      • -1

        Singapore or similar

Haha what does that refer to? Malaysia?

    • y

  • Hi, so just checking it will work on Telstra 4G network? I’ve seen comments that camera doesn’t work properly. Is that true?

    • The camera is slow. Particularly in lower light. But still… For the money its a sensational phone.

  • +1

I'm looking for a reason to have another phone, can anyone give me one?

    • +1

It's always good to have a spare phone in the glove box of the car. That way, if there is an emergency and your normal phone is broken or out-of-charge then the backup phone will save the day.

    • Burner phone that looks high end enough to not be a burner phone.

  • Xiaomi is never ever standard stock Android right? I think they are locked to Mi.

How would folks get app for this Mi phones? Google Play Store?

    • Xiaomi Mi A1 has stock Android out of the box. It would also be possible to flash other ROMs like LineageOS on this phone.

Apps can be downloaded from Google Play.

  • My parents had a older version of Xioami phones and I hated it
    1. the UI wss sluggish
    2. You could not move apps to SD card

Could anyone who has this let me know if these issues have been resolved.

  • nice deal i got 1 thanks

  • Great hardware, replaced my iPhone 4S with one back in september (when the exchange rate was .80). Wishing I had bought the larger Note version though, it also comes with a slightly beefier CPU that can run the Google HDR camera app.

  • Having trouble transferring contacts from samsung, usb debugging does not do the trick, why oh why does it have to be this hard.

  • thanks. got one.

  • What's the difference between 4x and Note 4x? Which is better?

    • Redmi 4X has slower CPU and lower res screen compared to the Note 4X.

      • Cheers. And size-wise, is Redmi 4x smaller than Note? Note is probably too big for me.

  • ebay 10% sitewide sale makes the 4gb 64gb version gold for aud $219 with free case, tempered glass cover
