This item must match the Xiaomi multifunctional gateway to use

Looks like Gearbest have pricematched on the other model of this sensor - https://www.gearbest.com/access-control/pp_626702.html

I'm not sure how LITB and GearBest compare, as I'm still waiting for my recent (first) orders from both of them.

Edit: Just scored one from GB for USD5.99 using the old code from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/337355

    This week on boarder patrol
Officer: "why do you have 50 Xiaomi temp sensors, are you a hydro dealer"
Innocent "no its because of ozbargain"
Officer: "Im gonna hold you for 48 hours because I missed out on a wiiu at dick smiths 4 years ago"

  • "You can easy control the temperature and humidity change by viewing the data according to historical records" Huh?

So I can set it to remotely alert/alarm me it the temperature is "abnormal" then what? I can (through something else) adjust the temperature for somewhere I'm not? ;-)

You can set it up to turn something else on/off. By themselves these aren't particularly useful, it depends what you combine them with.

I'm in Sydney and have had trouble with mold due to humidity, so mine are set up to turn a dehumidifier on if it rises too high. I'm also considering automatic blinds so that if the temp starts to rise on a hot day, the blinds will close and keep the place cool for when I get home instead of relying on the air conditioner.

      • Wouldn't it be best to close the blinds during the day every day in the warmer months? and the opposite in the colder months?

I've got an old freezer where every few months the defrost cycle gets stuck on. So i use thhis to alaert me when the freezer temp is above -10°c, so I can do a manual defrost before everything gets spoilt

I also use it for home brew (on the top, not inside the fermenter). When it drops below 20°c temp, it turns on the smart power plug & the heat mat turns on. When it hits 26°c the smart power plug turns off.

  • the xiaomi human thermometer (contactless) deal please~~~~ under AUD25 and i will buy

  • I have just received this from a previous deal. Instructions are entirely in Chinese.
Anyone have a link to English instructions?

If you have the language in the mi home app set to English it steps you through connecting it to the gateway.
From memory I also looked at some English language videos on either the Gearbest or Banggood site.
