lol.. I thought that too (for 'Murica). But was pretty different when I landed and the airport kiosks were asking $60USD for 30 day 1GB plan (albeit with unlimited local calls). Cheapest Pre-paid stuff outside is about $30USD for 1GB or less data.
It is cheaper in Europe countries from what I've seen.. USA was stupidly expensive even compared to Australia.
Int Telco's really are experts at blatantly gouging the tourists, insert expletive laced descriptor.
Pricing is not the best and usually data can be found cheaper locally in most countries.
But it wins on convenience. You can seamlessly roam between countries, rather than the hassle of buying a new sim for each.
It's actually quite an interesting idea. Their sim sits on top of your existing sim and it's all controlled via an app.
Turn on and off their data without removing the sim, their sim remains in your phone even when home.
Next time you travel just top up the account and away you go.
I haven't got one yet, going to tomorrow though. Paired with Cloud SIM it makes international roaming convenient.
I'm still grandfathered on a Telsra Freedom so have tons of credit to use if a data sim normally.
For that price and data allocation you’re better off getting a sim at the airport when u land…
