I would say the 4k, my partner has an older model that doesnt play the x265 formats but are becoming popular now. Even if you were playing at a lower rez I think being able to play these formats along with what I assume to be better specs should be a priority too.

The Apple TV 4K looks like it has so much potential given that it has a very powerful chip, and iOS on iPhone/iPod/iPad already has a huge library of games with Gamepad support, but games Available on Apple TV seem to be MIA.
Apple could have had an Nvidia Shield/Nintendo Switch killer (although Microtransactions would hold them back as well).
Yeah it’s a missed opportunity that the App Store for ATV4 hasn’t taken off.
Maybe Apple should come up with their own version of Apple Motion Controller, to help nudge the developers
Holding out for the second generation AirPods with wireless charging. Such a long wait… I hope the second generation comes with the wireless case as standard or I'll be rather annoyed!
I read that they were going to sell the tic tac case that can wireless charge aswell as airpods with wireless charging case. It seemed that it was more of gen 1 update vs a new gen 2 with better w1 chip, improve audio etc.
Not sure when they are going to release though.
Mainly wanting it for optus sports, Netflix, YouTube and airplay only.Unlikely to watch 4k content off Apple TV for now. Is it worth the extra $33 for Apple TV 4k?
Currently not many shows/content in 4K but for $33 I'd go with the 4K a future proof one

Apple TV is the only media streaming box available in Australia that I know of that supports Dolby Vision so props to Apple for including it.
Given Apple is rumoured to be in negotiations to buy Netflix I would be getting the 4K Apple TV :)
Don't think that will ever happen. Currently they are building up their own production system.
Also recommend you buy your Netflix subscription with iTunes cards - that way you can get 15% off when they are discounted.

And the money they have in the bank Netflix is a perfect fit.I've never watched their car karaoke (and have no wish to -bleh!), but apparently they are spending ~$1billion on buying up rights for more traditionally scripted shows.
Would it be a good fit? Given how up tight they are about adult material I can't imagine that they'd be interested in Netflix (or HBO!).

It depends on what other hardware you use. We have both as I am on Android and my wife is all invested in Apple. They complete each other.
