Why is this a bargain Rep?

      Its Digital over Analog

      • I thought DVR was 'analog' and NVR was digital.

        • DVR = Digital Video Recorder
          NVR = Network Video Recorder

Both at the end of the day are recording to a HDD digitally

        • I thought DVR was 'analog' and NVR was digital.

it's all digital. it's just how the cameras process and transmit the image to the recorder that's confusing for some users.

      • Did you not read the question? And digital over analog is hardly a reason as to why this is a deal.

  • This was banned store…And Deal was disappeared for a brief period before coming back..Whats happening here…

  • what brand cctv systems are you using?

    • This a open mic question? I am using a "Uniden - Guardian Hybrid FHD DVR Security System - GCVR8H80" It comes with 8x 1080P BNC cameras, and has support to connect 4x Onvif cameras. I am still exparamenting with ebay onvif supported cameras.

Spam. No deal listed. No examples listed. Looks like pure advertising.

Negging deal because it’s not even a deal. No examples of a deal and let’s face it, it’s Harvey Norman. An arlo kit would cost less than what ever that price is for up there…

  • From website:

A Harvey Norman Security camera system can:
    Help prevent theft
    Enhance employee safety
    Assist in inventory tracking
    Monitor customer traffic patterns
    Help improve WH&S compliance
    Assist law enforcement agencies
    Help prevent crime
    Assist in company policy adherence
Reduce risk profile and potentially reduce insurance costs, and
    Improve overall business performance…

Lol How the hell can security cam increase business performancce and assist in inventory tracking…

If you're having high rates of inventory loss due to theft - this will help you track your inventory.
Cameras may allow you to understand your peak selling periods - thereby understand when you need more staff available.

Track the person stealing it you mean

Sounds like desperate marketing speak. This is better done via a reporting tool without having to sit in front of a screen counting customers

shopping centres like westfield have counters at every public entrance to count traffic.

Is the store even related to Harvey Norman?

Only one location, on Boden Road… Surely Broden can find a better location!

  • So vague of what you are getting eg models and specs..etc. unprofessional ad imho.

  • Dumb question is it legal(allowed) to install Ethernet cables? I know its not electricity but..?
Please just don't shoot me appreciate your thoughtful insight

    • Ethernet runs on very low voltage and almost no amps. It is used to transmit data and if PoE (power over Ethernet) is supported, it’s still only 5~12v (from memory).

House wiring on the other hand carries much more voltage. Will carry a considerable load, up to 10amps worth.

240v domestic wiring has the ability to kill you if you don’t know what you are doing. Ethernet cabling will not.

I would imagine that you could install Ethernet cabling in your own house without much of an issue as it will not be connected to any power source. It’s just a cable running from one outlet to another.

Source: I have Ethernet cables all through my house. I installed them myself. I am not an electrician, but used to do network installs for small business

if you don't have a problem with jaywalking, then you don't have to worry about diy cctv/networking.
