Seems like a pretty FRESH deal, considering it costs $119.00-119.95 everywhere else.

Checked EB, eBay and JB, didn't think to check Big W. I am not nearly thorough enough to be an Ozbargainer.

      Well bugger me, you're right.

      • +17

Keep trying!! There's gotta be a bargain out in the Amazon somewhere!!

        • +2

As long as they eventually add the stuff I want, too!

Figuring at this point, Boxing Day will be the go-to.

      • +4

$10 delivery at Big W though, so not bad if you can't make it to a store and find stock.

    • +1

      Or Target :)

    • +1

Also can use e giftcard to effectively pay about $95!

  • +2

Should have used Price Hipster, much quicker than checking individual sites

    • +1

Oh yeah, that is handy. Will keep that in mind.

    • +1

Although it looks nice, I feel like Price Hipster isn't very comprehensive and only checks a handful of sites.

      • +1

It's not fully comprehensive, but covers a lot of the main players

  • +2

$94.05 with %5 off P5OZZIE on target eBay. Sorry OP

    • +2

Great deal, although just for the grey ones.

  • +1

Pokemon Sun is also $59 for anyone interested in paying too much just because Amazon is taking over…

  • +2

As expected Amazon just matches the Australia market prices for most things. Very disappointed

  • -2

taking the absolute piss… what was the original RRP? like $60-70? ripoff even at that price.

    • +3

      The original RRP is $120…

So you're correct in your pricing if you're just after one Joycon and not a pair, otherwise you're completely off.

      • -3

no it wasnt.. when these came out, they were selling for $60-70….. how do i know? i bought them. whatever.

        • +2

Yes it was, when these came out, they were selling for $120….. How do I know? I bought them. Whatever.

        • +1

Only a single one retails for that, not a pair.

        • -1

          @Smigit:

my point is, for the first couple of months when the switch was released a joycon pair was $60-70… my entire point is, $100+ is a bloody ripoff for a controller….

        • -1

          @BradleyDS2:

Well, not to state the obvious, but you're a chump, because i bought a second joycon pair for under $70 in April… My entire point being, nintendo is taking the piss… and you're illustrating it by thinking this is a bargain… a joycon pair has crept up to being more than the pro-controller, its a joke…

        • +1

@autolux: "for the first couple of months"

I already linked you to EB Games on the 5th of may selling Joycon pairs for $119.95.

Please provide evidence of the price you claim. You said you bought a pair for $60-70, so provide some proof such as a receipt.

Also, it's a reasonable price when you consider what it has, such as HD rumble, and the ability to be used as two separate controllers. The Xbox Elite controller has neither of these and costs $200 but I haven't seen you complain about how much it costs.

        • +1

@autolux: OK, fantastic news for you. Where did you buy it from?

A Joycon pair has ALWAYS cost more than the pro controller, I know because I bought a spare pair of joycons and a pro controller on launch day.

          You are fake news.

  • watch out for deal of the day specials, gonna get stuff off by 30% or more. Remember, Amazon just started stocking their warehouse so the sales haven't started kicking in yet.

    • This is Amazon Marketplace right (Amazons version of ebay for businesses) - so items are sold and ship by the listing companies. Not sure when Amazon is going to stock and sell its own products .. but maybe not for a bit.

      • +1

nope quite a few items including this one are sold and shipped by amazon. Read the full item listing. If its shipped by and sold by Amazon then you can be assured of fast postage and delivery and customer service. For marketplace items, get those which are sold by 3rd party but FULFILLED by Amazon to ensure smooth posting/delivery of items.

so this is another amazon. au post which is not a bargain - just another advert.

  • +3

Even at $99 I feel like I'm being ripped off. Not going to buy a pair for more than $75.

A second controller is critical to owning a console. If they can't price them reasonably (and I can't see that these should be so expensive to manufacture - so $75 should be achievable) then that's just poor.

If people are willing to pay it… well, I think they're crazy too.
