Woah. Now that's a bargain price.

  • Very nice! I bought a similar one for around $200 from Peter's of Kensington, not too long ago.

    • Same as i. I like this block. It's got air holes and takes up less room. Shame - I already have a set.

  • +1

  • +1

Just a noob questionhere , will Amazon Au gona be like Amazon US where they will sell bulk food? Thanks

  • +2

First thing to be OzBargain'ed on Amazon AU?

    • +1

No seems to be happening all the time. They’re either poorly organised or selling things cheap in limited quantities to get you on to their site. A fizzer so far.

      • I have checked the price of a few things…… all are cheaper elsewhere. Like you said, a fizzer so far.

        • I think it's because the only items so far are 3rd party, as far as I have seen. Not sold by Amazon themselves.

  • +3

wow, that was a crazy good price! pretty cut I missed it!

    • +2

Not sure why you were negged. Here have my +1, it was a nice try. Maybe leave the bold out next time. We get puns.

      • +2

I think it's because there were better puns to be had. So much opportunity.

Okay, the knifes are out! Now that Amazon has finally cut to the chase having a stab at the Australian market, I expect Gerry's slice is going to be water thin indeed.

        • +2

Are you suggesting he should have another stab at it?

        • +1

@btiltman: I reckon. His first didn't make the cut.

        • +3

          @Make it so:

ah guys…it was just a throwaway. no need to hone in on my comment…

here's a tip: not every post is intended to induce belly laughs, to bolster one's internet cred, or to try and get an edge over anyone - sometimes that's not the point. I wasn't trying to be cleaver, my comment wasn't supposed to be rivetting. don't worry, I can handle a bunch of people negging my comment - I don't mind being the butt of your jokes. I'm sure the pain in my heart will heel, even if it leaves a tang in my mouth. but I'm not sucking on whetstones here, so no need to guard against my feelings.

I don't mean to be blunt, but while I may not be a high profile poster, and my posts may not be cutting edge, my pun skills are sharp when needed - I'm not dull.

not trying to steel anyone's thunder here, not trying to cut anyone down, or bust anyone's chops…but the cheek of telling me how to write a bad pun!

Doesn't stop jv from using bold in almost every comment.

I have a feeling a lot of these deals are not going to end well; they will really test the commitment of Amazon (and its new Aussie suppliers) to customer service…

  • Half of Amazon's stock is either sold out as it's selling or it's way, way overpriced. Weird how most their items are really expensive.

  • Good deal OP, this is a sharp price.

  • -2

Furi knives are very similar Australian designed China made if anyone's looking for more. Got a 5 piece block with sharpener for $200 from creative cooks a few years back.

    • Furi is crap

      • +1

        Yeah Furi is shit

        • I think Samuel L Jackson played the character well

  • This is about the only good thing (price) I've seen on Amazon au today.

  • Cheaaaaaap

  • Damn it missed out.

Will amazon be another Harvey Norman? Bait and switch ??

  • Thanks OP!

  • Good knife, great price.

  • Got a set of Global knifes for our wedding present, when we looked at them in Myer they were around $700!

  • +1

Received email from Amazon - pricing error, transaction cancelled with a $20 Amazon credit provided. Did anyone else's purchase get cancelled?

  • +1

. We recently discovered an error that caused the following item(s) to be displayed at an incorrect price:

New Global 30th Anniversary 6 Piece Knife set

Despite our best efforts, with over millions of items available on our website, unfortunately pricing errors can occur. In this instance we have cancelled the orders made at the incorrect price. We would like to apologise for the inconvenience.

To help make up for the inconvenience, we've applied a $20 Amazon.com.au Gift Card to your account. This amount will be applied to your next eligible order automatically without entering a claim code.

    Nuts

  • Got the email as well.

  • Same, cancelled. Very poor first experience.

  • +1

Yeah mine got cancelled, not happy. I’m gonna fight it.

    • +4

Dont bring a knife to a gunfight.. oh wait.. you no have knife LOL

    • Care to share how? I'm more than happy to chip in if you need help

      • Well, $20 is better than what most sites would give you. I suspect it's actually Amazon who gives the $20, not Kitchen Warehouse (who are probably responsible for the wrong listing).
But I must say, this is some way to start my shopping spree at Amazon…

  • Same here, email stating to be cancelled.
