Youi offers 6.5% off $100/$200/$500 vouchers using their Youi Rewards app. Their insurance premiums are pretty cheap. I get away with comprehensive car and contents insurance for $100/month.

F me. I bought a TV from JB today for $998. The same TV is now $798. Does anyone know if JB will offer me store credit for the difference if I ask nicely? It'd be just my luck for the price to go down the next day, but the same day? Damn it :(

    • +2

Yes done that before and they refunded the difference.

      • +1

        Oh really? Cheers man!

    • Yes they will. Sometimes they refund difference to a gift card

      • Thanks mate. I actually paid with gift cards, so if they do refund the difference it would be with gift cards. I hope the fact that I paid with gift cards doesn’t mean they won’t.

        • +1

Shouldn’t mean they won’t but they will refund as a gift card.

    • Which TV

      • Samsung 50 inch MU6103.

        • how's the tv?!

    • +8

They will refund the difference if the price drops within 7 days. I was told first hand when I bought my TV 8 days ago.

      FML.

      • Would you be able to buy a new one and then return it but under the first TV's receipt?

        • Sure, got a spare $2500?

          :D

    • +1

Yes, I had this happen also about 12 months ago. I called them and explained and without much prompting the manager told me to come in and have the difference applied as a refund. was put on my card as well, not a store credit refund. The only condition she said would be if the purchase was significantly well before the sale period. Mine was within I think a week or two so she said no problems.

      • Thanks mate, very reassuring.

    • I am eyeing the same TV. The samsung 4k. Why dis you go with that TV if you dont mind me asking

  • Cool, works with Fitbit products

  • Is it worth chasing up $1.10 $4.40 in savings for purchasing $22 CD today?
I know an Ozbargainer would but do you know if I have to return it to the same JB or if I can do it from any JB?

I'm definitely going to go get my $4.40 back after seeing 20% off CDs!
Edit: its actually down to $16.71 from $22 using 5% off discount code. $15.46 with 7.5% off gift cards, that's almost $7!

    • +2

Depends how far away the closest JB is. Is your time, fuel and effort worth $7?

      • Well to be fair, I'm going to the shops tomorrow anyway to get some more presents and JB happens to also be there.

JB just opened there though, so if it wasn't open I wouldn't bother.

Do you have to return it to the same JB or can you do it from any JB?

        • Any JB as long as you have the receipt.

        • +1

@Dagmar: Thanks, I just actually got home from taking it back and getting a price match :)
Also took advantage of several other sales :P

        • +1

          @pennypincher98:

Upvote for being a true OzBargainer.

    • +1

Personally I couldn't be bothered on such a cheap purchase.

      • You sir, are not a true OzBargainer! :P

        • +1

True. How many packets of expired soup can you buy with $4.40 again?

        • @Lad92: I believe it's more like, how many "free" (cheap) Zapals deals can you get for $4.40 :D
Technically, $5.29 as I used my 5% off site wide coupon - I got more but for the benefit of the exercise, that's how much was off the CD :)

  • Just bought a $1400 tv about a month ago and now this comes out.

    • Must be in a response to amazon…

      • +4

Pretty sure this would have been planned for a sale this big regardless of amazon.

      • +1

I thought the same, until I went at looked at last year's 20% BluRay/DVD cycle, occurred on:
        10/11/2016
        25/11/2016
        7/12/2016
        26/12/2016
        So no impact from Amazon.

    • I bought one today, it’s $200 cheaper later the same day!

  • Says tomorrow only, but tested a code on my cart and 5% discount applied ok now.

    • +1

Email said it started tonight for online

    • do you have the code?
I did not receive in email

  • Don’t know if jbhifi would give me a refund on the difference for a month old tv?

  • wuttt i didnt get a code :(

    • Mine just came through a couple of minutes ago. Maybe it's still on the way?

  • Don't know if it's linked to my account, but here's a code if anyone wants it. 92NGPUR7IH0JG2

    • Someone already used it!

The coupon code entered has already been redeemed.

      • Take mine if you need it: 92265SHQKUT1K6

  • I usually get a lot more than 5% just asking for the best price.

    • +4

ask for the best price then whip out the 5% off voucher

  • I want to stack with the bonus gift card offer. So I was wondering based on other people's experience, how long does it take for the online giftcards to be emailed? Are they emailed instantaneously? The terms and conditions below suggest delivery can take some time.

"For online eligible gift card purchases, a JB COUPON will be emailed within 7 to 10 working days of gift card purchase. Purchase A JB Gift Card To The Minimum Value Of $100 & Get A BONUS $10 Discount Coupon."

    • I think the $10 vouchers have to be used on separate transactions

  • I remember buying some CDs a few weeks ago and being able to specify whether to click and collect or have the item posted for EACH individual item within a single order - however, I can't seem to do it on the website now.

I'm finding that unless all your items are available for click and collect, you have to get them ALL posted. This isn't great if you are buying say 2 DVDs for $20 and only one of them is available for click and collect.

Anyone able to split an order into click and collect AND delivery?

    • Two separate orders? But then wouldn't be able to use 5% off voucher for both orders.

      • Apologies for my poor wording. I meant that in a single order containing 2 DVDs, is it possible to have 1 DVD designated for pick up and 1 DVD designated for delivery.

  • iphone x?

    • Excludes Apple, Mobiles Phones…

    • +1

      $1700.

      Yeah, what a bargain

      • go to USA apple store. they provide unlocked iphone 10 now

  • Damn it I just ordered a $1000 receiver from their website and now just saw this. Could have saved $50! Used a gift card as well so not sure what would happen if I cancel the order and order again? I'm guessing I might not get back the balance of the gift card so probably not worth risking it.

Ps4 pro comes to $445.55 with 5% off. So tempted to pull the trigger, but also fear the wrath of my wife :S

  • +4

Did anyone else who is a subscriber to the JB emails NOT receive this? I haven't received the email, but keen to pick up BB-9 Droid tomorrow in-store for my son (so I would actually need the email to show the code at the checkout).

    • I didn't receive either. Not in junk mail either.

      • I still haven't received the offer.

  • -3

can pm me a code please? I didnt get one either :(

  • +1

Has anyone else got the email, but the extra 5% off has "Barcode Expired" over the barcode already? The barcode itself is greyed out also.

    • +1

Yep as soon as I opened my email my barcode says already used :(

      • -1

Yep as soon as I opened my email my barcode says already used :(

It's Karma for the job you did on all the people who wanted to purchase the Surface Pro from Microsoft.

A barcode not working versus cheating and ripping off a business? Sure whatever helps you sleep at night buddy.

  • +2

Also have a grayed out "Expired coupon"…strange.

  • I am subscribed to Instant Deals but didn't receive an email? Is it a code or something?

  • What's the thoughts on beat possible price for Surface Book 2 i7 16gb 512gb hdd?

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-tablets/laptops/microsof…

Doesn't see the 15% off laptops offer applies to the new surface books?

    • "excludes Microsoft"

  • My local jb was clearing out the LG 55" c7 oled for around $2495 last week, when I asked if they could make it any lower i was told no it's already a great price. Now I'm tempted to go back but don't know if it will get cheaper after Christmas.

    • Seem to of taken the C7 off the market now haha. Can't find them anywhere online

    • Also it will get cheaper. It has gone below $2250 before.

      • Bendigo jb had 4 in stock. Couldnt resist getting one. Ended up at $2371. Im hoping I can swap it out with my 10year old plasma without the wife realising haha

        • +1

Yeah I folded too. I ended up getting it for $2291.64 with free delivery. Didn’t even have a code, just told old mate that I lost it in my emails. Not a bad deal!

  • +1

    Barcode expired… What? lol

  • If you see the greyed out 'expired' barcode, fear not! Just use the code under the image, and this should apply to your cart successfully.

    • so it should as the code is supposed to expire on the 6th of december

one of my wife's favorite shows Victoria season 2 comes out today so I hope it's on their shelf to grab so I can use the extra 5% off :)

    • +1

Hopefully they can use code rather than barcode in store, though. Was going to click and collect order, which would have prevented any issue, but have some Ultimate Teens/Kids cards to use which don't seem to work on their website so alas will have to buy there..

  • My barcode says expired too

  • Yeah I can't even find a spot in the checkout to use the coupon. It did last time in the updated cart they have. I guess it isn't active yet. Maybe 9aedst

    • +1

I've got that bit alright (alas, other issues - mentioned above). For me this is directly under product in cart/checkout process - 'Apply coupon code' underscored. Click on that and brings up box to put code in.

      • Ah yes I see it now. It shows as an old fashioned hyperlink you have to click to show the text entry field.

  • What’s the best way to use Amex?

  • Totally agree
    Amazon launches Tuesday and bam
    Good guys Wednesday special sale
Thur job 20% off etc plus 5% bonus
They had these dry to go for amazon launch to dampen its appeal.

Mind u I’m sure amazon will have a proper launch once systems r fully sorted

  • Check junk mail

  • The email says to print to use in store, would they still accept the code on a phone? My printer ran out of ink!

    • +1

Yes. I never waste ink on printing the coupons. Even if you don't own a printer. Just copy/upload the code to your phone and they will scan or manually type in the code at checkout.

  • Be aware you can't use the 5% and $20 vouchers from black Friday together.
