  Good deal but less than ideal sizes on offer. 2.5m x 2.5m is the smallest I would go without an awning wall, but they can be had for around $30…

  Good deal, especially including the LED light, these sizes are mostly useful for smaller 4WD/SUV's.

  I've never fully understood these things. I understand it saves needing to throw a bulky gazebo on the roof, but really what are you going to do with 2.5m x 2.0m of shade. Being on the beach and using the vehicle as a wind-block would suffice, but I've just never had a campsite setup that would take advantage.

    I couldn't see the appeal either until I was given one about a year ago. It's easy to attach (2 bolts) to the roof rack and only goes on before a trip. There's normally plenty of shade where we camp but the awning has made the last few trips in the rain much more comfortable…being able to access the vehicle in teeming rain makes it worth it for us alone but keeping chairs and stuff out of the dew overnight is just as useful.

  Bought one without the LED six months ago for $100. Had to return it because it didn't have adequate hardware for connection to the roof rack. Store employee said it was a common problem and they couldn't get the parts required.
