  • US price on Yeelight?

I need new earphones, only like the classic ones / earpods though, not the in-ear ones. Anyone know if there is an Xiaomi equivalent?

    • +7

You mean the kind that slip out easily and don't block any noise?

      • I often have hearing issues, so the thought of shoving in-ear earphones in my ears is not appealing. I find the opposite to be true, unless everyone is really shoving them in there.

        • That's how you're supposed to do it, to create a good seal.

No idea about your hearing issues. Try turning down the volume? How it seals shouldn't affect your hearing issues I don't think.

        • +2

@lostn: One of my hearing issues is wax related, won't go into graphic detail, though these in-ear earphones cause me more issues than the classic ones.

        • -1

          @Marrk:
Not sure what you mean… Pic?

        • @Marrk: Apply wax remover then go to a doctor and they will flush it out for you. Have a look at Venture electronics Monk Plus earbuds, great reviews on that.

        • @ryan5601: I get them flushed every few months, seems to be an issue for some people more than others.

          Thanks, will check them out!

      maybe https://www.gearbest.com/earbud-headphones/pp_362337.html

Alternatively might want to try the QCY19 bluetooth jobs - usually can be had for under $20 mark (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/qcy-qy19). They sit in the ear with a small hook to stop them falling out.

Finally, another option is to try comply foam tips with the cheaper in-ear jobs - they don't last for a super long time, but can make in-ear buds a lot more comfortable.

  • Fresh vs Non Fresh, any ideas? I have a few non-fresh.

    • +1

The Phonograph found that the basic edition had a flat cable and the control button was shaped differently. It described the Fresh edition as being more budget-oriented but I can't find anything explicitly stating a difference in sound quality, though if you want a step up over your Piston Basic's you'd want to peruse some good $10 earphones and such :P

      • I use these as backup headphones if I forget my better pair.

      • Thanks for the comments though (how rude of me!).

  • +1

If you are ordering phone or tablet from Gearbest, you can add the earphone for just over a dollar.

  • Cheers. Picked up a couple more bulbs.

  • Thanks OP,

    Grabbed a pair or headphones.

  • Thanks OP. Got another bulb.

  • Thanks got 3 bulbs

  • Do they have the other globe socket type?

    The push pin thingo one

    • I don't think so. I just used a B22 converter from eBay for a dollar.

      • Didn't know that was a thing, sweet

  • Code appears to be for 1 pair only. I'm getting USD $2.39 for one pair but when I try to add another pair it jumps to USD $4.82 each.

  • Woo finally got these earphones! Thanks OP!

Yeelight is great, but appears to only come in screw bulbs. All my ceiling lights at pin bulbs. Fortunately my IKEA lamps are all screw bulbs.

  • Can we get a white yeelight code please?

    • +1

Personally I think this bulb is worth the extra. The white Yeelight can be got in either 4000k or 2700k (as I recall). The colour one you can set to various white levels - eg I prefer a warmer white for reading etc, but cooler white when working on the laptop.

Yeelight is expired. Urbancartel has now expired yeelight

  • difference between these and the pros?

  • Just a heads-up ppl, don't buy this for music unless u like to listen flat

    • +2

      They are $3 headphones.

If you want a $3 pair of headphones to listen to music, these are fine. Otherwise buy something better/more expensive.

    • +4

Damn, I like to listen whilst upright or sitting mostly :(

  • +1

    Looks like its expired.

    • +1

      Yep - updated thanks!

  • Just a warning I owned two pairs of geniune Xiaomi Piston after 1/2 year use one side of the earpiece would have no sound.

    This is a design flaw

    • +1

      Probably worth $3 though :)

I owned a pair myself and haven't had any of those issues, and I've been using them for about 8months

    • +1

Um no, it's not a desgin flaw. It means they are broken.

Do you treat them poorly? Not use this method to wrap them up? https://www.theverge.com/2016/3/2/11145832/pro-tip-best-way-…

But don't know if you can complain for a $3 item…

      • +2

Nope just normal wear and tear. I treat them very well. I had my first one replaced with Mushtato under warranty, after another 6 months use same thing happened again. this is with Piston 3, However Piston 2 (gold pair) still works.

So I encourage all of you to stay away as this product is flawed.

It is a design flaw due to two sets of Piston 3 have the same issues after good care of use for 6 months, same problem exact same thing no sound on one ear.

        • All earphones will do that eventually. If the 6 months you got out of it was worth your $3, you can't be disappointed. If you want something that will last longer expect to pay more than $3.

I buy 3 at a time and treat them like consumables.

  • Great deal! I have one of this earpods and they just suck.
