Guys, I was at Harvey Norman Adelaide City Center Store comparing iPhone prices
and the salesperson told about $200 gift card if I switch to Optus since I had an awesome prepaid annual deal with Kogan, I let him amuse me
But pulled it off he gave me 20 Gb data with iPhone 8 space gray and $200 gift card.
I noticed since then Optus have started doing the deal on their website but its missing $200 gift card.

          Thank you. I had to return my screen protector and case but I got the lifeproof case. He said he wasn't sure how they did it but lifeproof cases were expensive and he couldn't do the screen protector as well.

          I installed the case on my phone but can't figure out how the silent switch works on the case. I turned it but nothing happened.

    I am just a little bit jealous and annoyed that I got myself roped into a $100 20GB unlimited deal with Optus for the iPhone 7 Plus last year. :/ Guess the only thing I can do is to finish my 1 year contract so I can own my phone and sell that phone…

    Edit: Being silly, my plan is for a 256 GB iPhone 7 Plus hence the differing cost.

    So I tried to get this deal, declined at the credit check and I have no idea why. I tried to get HN to sort it out (went there twice today), gave them more documents to support my application and no response from Optus customer service team. Looks like I am gonna miss out :(

    I didnt want to lose my number as i am already with optus, so i didnt get the 200 eftpos card, I asked the sales person if he could sort me out with some accesories, in the end i got 2m lightning cable $39, bluetooth headset water resistant $49, lifeproof case $89 and glass screen protector $29 awesome deal.

    sold the phone for $900 with accesories, spoke to optus online and got the 10% student discount also now, so in the end I pay $15.60 a month awesome contract i decided to pay all upfront so credited the account with the 900 i got for the phone and payed the rest $374.40 my self

    So I got my deal for $374.40 for a 2 year mobile usage with all that sweet 20gb data awesome and off course free sports channel as well bonus.

    I believed some ozbargainer on here was saying that the iPhone 8 is unlocked and I believed him.

    I haven’t open my 256gb model cos I don’t know if I want the iPhone 8 now.

    Can someone please confirm that the iPhone is definitely unlocked?
    Eg. Like put in a different telco sim?

        I went on the last day of the EFTPOS card promotion, but because Optus wouldn't pick up the phone for over a hour, i was told to come back the following day to finish transaction.

      The activation instructions say: "Your card will be ready for activation by midday of the second business day following the date of issue". What date did you make the purchase?

          There is a delay in when you can use the card - but you should get a successful activation message as soon as you enter the details through online.

      I had the same issue and called support. They said the eftpos card HN supplied was already expired and I need to go in store to get a new card that hadnt expired.

    I bought the iPhone 8 256gb at $69 per month. I can now sell the handset right? It’s unopened. I don’t want it now Either way Optus will get their $10 handset repayment per month if I keep or sell the phone.

    I don’t have to pay the $240 first before I sell the handset do I?

    I have already activated the Optus sim but have not received the phone. The Optus reception in my home is unusable as the data only works in a few of the rooms. I really wanted Optus to work out as its an amazing deal. If I return the phone as part of the 30-day guarantee, can I still keep the HN gift card?

      I'm in Perth and I spoke to HN this morning and they said orders made yesterday for the iPhone were looking at about 8 days so if you placed your order earlier than that it should be sooner. S8 within the next couple of days.

    ive spoken to Harvey Norman in Nunawading and the guy has told me 2 weeks.

    so ive taken it on my own to call optus and see whats going on, i was given a 3-5day lead-time and a tracking number (which isnt working yet because it has not been dispatched)

    i spoke to several different people at Optus and the last person had told me that they their sales team was checking the warehouse stock to organise dispatch.. it sounds to me like they dont have stock of the iPHONE 8

    I ordered Monday afternoon (Melbourne), got the tracking number yesterday, which said delivery would be today. This afternoon I callled Star Track as I didn’t have the phone or a card from them… turns out Optus massively stuffed up the address (I asked the guy on the phone to repeat it back to me, and he said it correctly but didn’t understand how to spell it, and it’s a basic word). Street number and name was wrong (the address they used was unit 1/1/54/8… doesn’t even make sense! and the street name in no way resembled mine), only thing that was correct was the suburb.

    I was on the phone to them for over an hour and now I have to wait an extra 8-10 days for them to ship a new phone out… why they can’t just redirect the first phone I have to idea!? I also asked if I could pick up a handset from an Optus store but they wouldn’t allow it. I pushed for a free month of access fees and they’ve given it- a fairly disappointing experience as a new customer.

    Those of you who are still waiting for phones… it might be worth checking Optus has your address down correctly.

      I am still waiting on even a confirmation! I ordered on Sunday, received a temporary receipt number and nothing since. Online chat keep saying they either can't confirm my details or it takes 5 business days for them to do all the checks and collect documentation - I've been a customer for 10 years! Ridiculous

      Put in your student email in the student hub section, a code will be generated, mention the code and your student email to the agent. I don't see any reason why they will not accept it.

      I dont have mine yet either. Same goes for eftpos card. Chat couldnt help me because it's HN Domayne's supply problem. Was told by sales guy to wait for a week. Chat says give it 2. I wouldnt be surprised really if I dont get the phone until after Christmas.

        The guy i spoke to couldn't guarantee it. The iphone 8 is the only phone that does not even list $59/month as a option (but does list the more expensive plans).. the galaxy s8 does still have the $59/month option though

    I signed this plan on 11 Dec, till today 16 Jan, I have received two $59 bills. Is that normal? Isn’t it a post-paid plan? It seems like I pre-pay for the coming month instead.
