Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (Dual SIM) - $949.05 Delivered @ Dick Smith / Kogan eBay (Grey Import)

440
P5OZZIE

The Galaxy Note 8 is now $949.05 AUD delivered from Kogan ebay due to their free delivery promotion. This means no GST, so what you see is what you pay. This is the dual SIM version.

I've had a look at similar phones such as the LG V30, Pixel 2XL & Galaxy S8+. This is the better value phone by far if you compare the difference between local stock & the kogan grey import price.

Available colours are black, grey, gold & pink. The Kogan website also sells an amazing blue but unfortunately that's a rip off at $1,249 + GST with no discounts.

Get a further 1% cashback by using cashrewards making it $939.06 delivered which is the cheapest ever!

You're right, deal updated to be better than ever.

False information about the microSD slot… All note 8's have them…

    • So gsm's website referring to the MicroSD slot as "microSD, up to 256 GB (uses SIM 2 slot) - dual SIM model only" is incorrect? I don't own a Note 8 (yet) so I don't know.

Removed this comment as the JB HiFi website says it has a microSD card slot for their non-dual SIM phone. Thanks.

Dual SIM can use 2nd SIM for microSD if not populated, not 2*SIM + mSD. But there's solution.

Fantastic price, but does it support Samsung Pay here (being a grey import)?

    • overseas have Samsung Pay, so, why not?

      • +3

I thought you need to have a region specific version for it to work. is that not the case?

  • "This means no GST" Isn't this supposed to be "no Duty"?
Also does Kogan send a separate invoice for the purchase? Flying in few days and would love to be able to claim TRS.

    • +1

Kogan doesn't pay GST for grey imports, so you can't claim TRS as no GST was paid.

      • Ohh I see, thanks for the clarification.

Member since 2015; knows about TRS but doesn't know that grey imports never come with GST receipt.

  • SO SO tempted,,,,,

Thought it was a Dell tower for a second 😅

$778 is the cheapest ever (to date).

    • if ya have a AMEX and I think it was split up with 2x AMEX payments to get 2x AMEX cashback ?

      • 778 was Vodafone staff discount + amex 20% cashback.
Doesnt work anymore as discount has expired.

        • wowzers! Ha, I guess u had to know a Vodafone staff member then.

  • Can I use Kogan giftcards?

At this price I would just wait for a deal for local stock. It is because if you break your display or something, Samsung official repair centers won't even touch your phone if its grey stock.

    • Is this confirmed? Not sure, hence why I am asking lol

    • +1

At this price I would just wait for a deal for local stock.

      I don't think you'll ever find a dual-SIM local model though.

If single sim is fine, I would definitely wait to see what happens closer to Xmas/Boxing Day. The $978 HN Black Friday price was really good. 2 years local warranty is great for peace of mind, not to mention 15,000 QFF points.

      • Shame that missed the HN Black Friday deal, I even searched HN last year boxing day sale and have a feeling that the price might not be as good as the black Friday one.

  • Anyone know if this will support our Telstra band network thingy (had an issue when I grey import a phone where network would spazz out)

    • Band 28??

  • -2

this is a grey import and Kogan are notoriously bad when it comes to returns. they'll keep stalling and get you to try a million things before they initiate the return.

    • +2

I haven't had any experience with their returns, but my friend had no problems getting his phone fixed a while back. Kogan paid for shipping both ways.

  • It is out of stock. Just checked.
