Prefect. I needed a $300 plain white shirt.

    • +4

That’s like 2 years apparel budget for me.

    • +6

I don't understand why these are all so expensive.

How is this worth $550? https://au.burberry.com/breton-stripe-cotton-polo-shirt-p405…

How is this worth $320? https://au.burberry.com/crew-neck-cotton-t-shirt-p40436511

I am literally stunned here. Obviously I am not their target market.

      • +2

friends did a project with them, they once did a staff sale and sold to staff everything left over for 90% of.

        • +1

          Awesome.

I had similar experience where a company (can't name, sorry) sell merchant and samples for $5 a bag, all you can fill, BYO bag.

Most (lady) staff walked out with happy face, maintained all day.

      • +15

the guy with the polo shirt looks pissed. probably paid full retail

        • I think he is pissed off because he forgot to wear socks.

        • @donga100: haha that too!

      • +2

That's fashion / brand names / higher end anything for you basically. 'Worth' is what people are willing to pay, and apparently people are willing to pay 550 dollars for that polo top

      • Cause it's chic

      • status.

    • Haha me too, I have a pasta night coming up.

  • Any idea when this sale ends?

    • +16

Technically not a sale if there's no bargains ;-)

      • Bargain is in the eye of the beholder

        • +1

Sounds painful. Almost as painful as paying half a grand for a polo shirt. That someone paid a kid half a dollar a day to make….

  • +4

    sort by price ….[x]

  • +8

Perfect timing, time to get some cheap xmas stocking fillers like this keyring…
    Beast keyring

    • +1

Lol $270 for this keyring, the house must be worth a lot. Maybe like the over inflated prices in Auckland

      • Or Sydney? : D

    • LOL

  • +1

Wow, if that's not the bargain of the year

  • +3

$66 for a pair of undies is the cheapest thing they sell?

    • +10

That's only $33 per plum for snug satisfaction. Why let your balls settle for less?

    • Good to see their undies down.

  • +5

Burberry trenchcoats have gone downhill. Better off buying an older version, because they used better stitching and fabric back in the day.

    • +1

They're pretty quickly snapped up at UK goodwills

  • Oh cool. A plain $100 tshirt.

  • +2

If you like Burberry probably a good time to buy something. Somethings still expensive but some decent deals out there. Better than paying full price.

Does anyone know if I can get stains out of this with brine or lime-wash? Planning a nautical voyage to the Dutch East Indies and need to buy four score but am told drycleaning might not be available.

  • +5

Kmart is waiting for you, guys

    • I'd rather spend $300 at kmart

      • Why not?

  • +1

Always wanted to look like a chav. Awesome.

  • +1

The price you are paying for is the brand and I assume its quality for the price tag you are paying.

This will be my response based on my affordability.

Wow thats a nice coat you are wearing, where you bought it from?

Burberry! They are having a sale at the moment at 50% . Its only 1000 after discount.

Nice……ends topic ( thats just me with a small wallet)

  • +50

I know this is OzBargain, but for once can you not all lose your collective shit over the price of designer goods? It is no secret that they are priced above their physical value but there is no shortage of the OzB members who still indulge in high-end fashion. No I'm not going to drop a thousand dollars on a coat but if I had the cash I probably would.

    • +13

yes thx. someone needed to say this. We getting too many people commenting on shit just because they think its still overpriced which is nearly anything that's not a complete bargain.

      • Why can't people comment on shit just because they think it's overpriced? arent people not allowed to voice their opinion now? Don't get me wrong i always wait for end of year sale like this to buy stuff but it doesn't mean I can tell others not to voice their opinion!

      • It's no sense of a bargain.

    • +7

I don't think anyone is truly losing their shit. It's just part of the culture of the site, it's all a bit tongue in cheek.

  • +5

I'd buy something, but there's no possible way I could learn that glum sour look that those models are doing

  • One brand that is always really expensive, I had a look at a Burberry shop when I was at a shopping center in Hawaii years ago and it was still mega expensive there too.

  • +5

Always funny when these types of fashion deals come up. It seems to surprise a lot of people that people spend their money on different things. If you were looking for an item from Burberry then this sale would be very beneficial. Obviously if you only shop at kmart the prices would seem ridiculous.

feel sorry for this guy.. even at 50% off, he can't afford a better fit coat or evening shirt. or even a smaller luggage bag. times are tough!

    • +1

that's it…. enough internet for today

      • Ah, maybe five more hours

  • I think this sale has been going on for at least a few weeks now. Didn't really think there are any sort of bargains.

  • +1

This sales been on for 2 weeks. Just don't tell the wife

  • +5

The models look like they could do with some sunshine though.

  • +5

I have never laughed so hard in my life….not at the prices but at the models.

  • +1

Thank you!!! Had my eye on a bag for the last 9 months, thinking i'd have to buy overseas to get a "deal" of any kind.

  • +2

I purchased two Burberry coats a few years ago when I was in London and the AUD was strong. Great buys that I get a lot of wear out of, and they still look new.

I'd rather buy a few good quality items than many cheap lesser quality items.

  • +10

    just gorgeous!!….OMG…how embarrassing.

    https://au.burberry.com/panelled-cashmere-fisherman-sweater-…

    • +1

      LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Should i buy that or an ipad. Tough decision

    • I am sorry, but is that a man or lady?

  • +3

i found a cashmere sweater with a red spot on it but its way cheaper, do you think a girl would care if i gave it to her?

    • +1

      I found one with a… white… discolouration.

  • +1

    Click "Sort by price: low"
Cheapest item is $66.00 boxer shorts … :/

  • I had one of the wallets and really liked it, it was a gift. Then I lost the bloody thing.

  • +2

Couldn't find anything that is at 50% off. Burberry in DFO prob has more bargains.

  • +1

if only i can pull off the hipster look,

when i try, i usually look like a bum instead

    • Hipsters don't wear Burberry, yo.

  • Decent discount on some items!

Does anyone have any experience with Burberry's return policy? Say, if the shirt doesn't quite fit, how easy/hard is it to get it refunded or get it in a different size?

    • +1

its 14 days on sale items. Free returns if bought online via courier

    • +2

If the shirt doesn't fit, what's the worst that can happen? You end up looking like the models?

  • +5

This thread made my day haha

  • is there a last date for this sale or while stocks last ?

  • Haha these comments are hilarious

  • This is the second Burberry sale this year. A reasonable priced handbag was part of the collection and it made a great surprise present.

Handbags, jewellery and shoes is something the ladies can't get enough off.

  • thanks OP, bought a cardholder!

  • Burberry is one of the most copied and faked brands, especially in the UK.
Hence the line from the song, "I can't believe it's not Burberry".
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIbd7bp4mUs

  • In case anyone is wondering specifically about the wallets.
They still have a few at Chadstone even though got doesn't show online.
    A few different ones.
Was at Burberry crown and Collins st and they were out.

  • I bought something online and picked up from Burberry store in the city. However the invoice does not show any gst. I planned to do TRS.
Are they allowed to sell and not provide tax invoice?

  • Great… Let's pay hundreds of dollars on top of the value just for a brand name. What a racket that segment of the fashion industry is.
