Assault on Hoth, possibly the worst UCS set released,

    • +6

      possibly

      possibly?

Assault on Hoth…the worst UCS set released!

      FTFY

      • LOL, it really doesn't look like much for $230, does it? How was it originally priced at 400!?

      • I've got it. Can confirm - it's terrible.

        • Agreed. Looks woeful next the the other UCS sets on display.

        • How much did you pay for it?

star wars has a cult following that surpasses monetary boundaries ….. asked if on one of the other posts about star wars box set if it was bluray or dvd for a starwars box set ….. got negged 10 x because i didn’t know it was books not dvds …. the price we pay for not going to comic-con and dressing up …. social outcast….. cultural philistine….

        • +1

The second line of the description clearly said it was a book set… you were negged because you didn't read what was already provided

Then you come to an unrelated deal and moan about it, and insult everyone for being passionate about something as a social outcast. Who's the cultural philistine here?

looks like a bunch of $13 sets cobbled together

      • Yep, I believe that was the main criticism of the set.

    • Doesnt even qualify to be UCS, unless UCS in thise case means Ultimate Crap Set

  • Hmmm, I was hoping they would get more stock of the Airport 6399 Monorail in… even if it was full-price tbh.

    • The one from 1990?

      • +1

Yes. I didn't buy it 1991 as it was $250, and I thought I would have more money when I was older to buy it… Now not only do I have less money than when I was 9, but I can't find this set anywhere… though I do have the airport though.

Wait for re-release as Lego did with Deathstar and Taj Mahal.

        • @cheapo999: It's highly unlikely though, isn't it? They don't produce those track pieces anymore so it would relatively expensive for Lego to start producing those pieces again.

Taj Mahal and Deathstar mostly have pieces currently in production. At least that is how I understand it.

        • @ChiefAJ:I assume Lego did not throw away the old moulds.

But of course it depends on customer demand.

        • @cheapo999:

I've been told (by Lego) that not only are the moulds gone, the company that made the motors doesn't exist… But they also play test monorail regularly with their test audiences. Basically regular trains are always more popular so that's what they make.

I do love me some monorail though :-)

        • @mattman:alright, the bottom line always win. But of course we have Lepin etc.
