    I use it, and it's pulled back many many GB of space - never had a problem with it. Why do you say to avoid?

      Gemini’s a different case but any company that sells utility packages for features that exist either as part of a standard install or as a free download is trading on user ignorance and therefore assholes.

      If you’re the kind of user who doesn’t care to know their system better then fine but it’s hardly a bargain when the same tasks can be done without purchase and minimal effort.

        Please provide details on how to do the following?

        -Identify and clean up old, useless files
        -Uninstall apps the right way and manage extensions
        -remove unneeded language files from apps easily

        @JoelWilliam: Do some research. Some of those features are part of a standard install, the rest is trivial, free and easy to learn if not part of a basic system hygeine routine.

        Your way can’t be too easy if you can’t even tell people how to do it.

        I’ll tell you how it works on cleanmymac2 that I’ve used. You click scan and then you click clean. Done.

  Clean my Mac is good. The negative comments might be getting it confused with Mackeeper which is garbage.

  I've used their Gemini 2 software to search for duplicates in all of my drives and it was very good. If this piece of software is anything like Gemini 2, I'll be taking a serious look at it.

  The previous version of CleanMyMac was free at some point. I don’t remember when exctly but I used it on my Mac a couple of times and since the last update it’s asking for money :)

    It was free to clean 500MB from memory, but required payment after that. I've never seen v3 free.
