Jaybird X3 Wireless In-Ear Headphones Black $148 @ JB Hi-Fi

110

Jaybird X3 Wireless In-Ear Headphones $148, RRP $199. Also available in all other colours Red (Roadrash), Alpha, White etc.

Freedom is also down to $149 (https://www.jbhifi.com.au/headphones-dj/headphones/jaybird/j…)

I know there's cheaper price for these on Ebay with international sellers etc but this might be good deal for people that prefer to buy from a local store with Australian warranty. I'll finally be getting one myself tomorrow.

  • Beware that the ear tips get loose easily and cost about $26 to get a new set(small medium, large and charger etc) Personally really like X3 but the ear tip kills it.

    • This. Lost one yesterday now they're useless until I get some cheap ebay ones in a few weeks. Great earphones though

    • Do they use standard tips or something funky?

      • I think they are funky ones. Will be happy to find some budget backup ones as my second set of tips are getting loose again.

    • For anyone looking for replacement tips, try Comply ones.

They make most out of memory foam, so they expand a little to fill your ear canal and basically don't budge unless you pull them out.

Logitech included them with my UE600's and I couldn't be happier.

      • I receieved what I assume are comply tips with the X3s … they disintegrated in about 2 months or so, working out an hour 5 days a week with 30 minute on a bus.

Silicon lasted until now but I sorta have to jam them in to get a seal and they unseal easyish.

        • Comply tips are disposable. That’s why they come in packs of 3 sets.

      • My audio technica's came with Comply, and while they are good, they are no where near worth what they charge ($20+ per PAIR). Mine also tore from stuffing them in my pocket or bag.

$4.25 does the same thing and more https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/142304236319 probably not even the cheapest option either (just first I found).

  • $99 USD on Amazon atm.

    • Doesn't ship to OZ though…

I would rather buy a pair of those Chinese QYC headphones at a fraction of the Jaybird price. (selling my Jaybird X2 and really hate that bulky design)

I agree. I bought the X3 when ebay had a sitewide discount. It's good but not worth that much money. Worst part is the super loud voice prompt when you turn it on/off and also can startle the crap out of you when battery is 60%

For anyone thinking wearing it 'sport style' with the mic behind the ear which was my #1 reason for purchasing, no one will be able to hear you. The mic is really faint overall, just do a google.

  • I purchased these from JB HiFI recently - 2 weeks ago roughly. They Price matched DWI and gave me extended warranty for $137. Great battery life at 8 hours. My only issue is the proprietary charger. I've purchased a number of cheap china made earphones and have been let down each time, including QCY's. IMO better to purchase something with a good reputation and local support. JB HiFi said they will essentially swap them within 3 months if there is a fault due to hygiene etc… and when the extended warranty takes over they will replace or credit for faulty returns. Can't say the same about my previous cheap earphones which have all failed within 4 - 8 months.

    • Would you be able to share the receipt? Will just make it easier to negotiate 😀

    • @MrJohnnyB Are you able to send me a photo of the receipt via private message? :)

  • Good price for a local stock. I have the first one (Bluebuds X) bought 4 years ago and still working (using it now as a matter of fact). I was looking for a reason to upgrade, but as the one I have is still working, I could not get it past the boss (e.g. mrs…)

For those that don't mind grey import, eGlobal have them for $107 https://www.eglobaldigitalcameras.com.au/jaybird-x3-wireless…

    • Not sure if I'm the only one experiencing faulty x3's? Gone through like 2 in like 2 in 5 months, first one broke in 1 the replacement broke in 4? I have the old x2's and they're still working fine. If you were gonna get them locally otherwise replacing them is going to cost you much more than 148 at the rate they last.
