This seems to be a decent price for a 2TB hard drive.

  • Is it any good for XBox OneS? Or can anyone recommend one?

    • +1

Yes, any HDD will work fine with an Xbox.

  • Can the HD be removed and put in a Orico/separate enclosure?

I had the connecting bit (what's it called?) fail on an old Adata CH11 last night and found a Toshiba drive in it that could unplug and transfer to a disc enclosure - working fine now.

    • Yep this will fit perfectly. I bought two of these 12 months ago. One is in my ps4 the other is in an Orico USB C enclosure.

      • Thanks DT… I think I'll hang back for a 3tb drive, maybe Toshiba - also removable I think.

    • The ones I own are soldered, so they can't be removed sadly.

This appears to be the case more often than not in recent hard drives. Some of these will be removable, but many won't. I wouldn't recommend buying with the intention of shucking.

      • Thanks … You're saying the 3TB Toshiba aren't removable?

I would just like to be able to swap it (1,2 or 3tb) out if the USB connection fails, as it did last night on an older drive.

        • It appears that most aren't removable now, so you can't tell until you open it up. You might be better off getting a proper 2.5" drive and an external enclosure, then using that. But then you have other problems, such as it costing a lot more, and them not being designed with moving around a lot in mind, so that could cause problems…

        • @BradleyDS2:

Yes, I'll have to keep an eye out for the right drive/s.

      • Which ones specifically are you talking about? I was looking to get a seagate 1TB expansion portable. AFAIK the seagate expansion portable series has always been shuckable, in particular the 1tb version

  • I wish there were some WD drives at GG :(

    • There was. I got a WD Elements Portable 2TB for $86. There was a 1TB version too.

      • where? Ill buy at $86!

        • The deal is done now lol.
