iPhone SE 32GB $399 (with Bonus Optus $50 Prepaid SIM) @Harvey Norman

240

If you can find a $1 item, it goes down to $300 with the $100 Amex offer.
(It says it's locked to Optus but the Optus website says they don't lock their iPhones.)

  • ouch just paid $450 for it from Officeworks… was somewhat confused how it could be this cheap

I ordered it on Sunday and meant to pick it up on Tuesday, can you claim a post "pricematch and beat"
    days after the purchase?

Or would the Optus prepaid that comes with it invalidate it as not being the same?

This is a Optus branded phone (maybe not network locked with Optus though). Not sure about these days but back then, any optus branded phone used to have a OPTUS welcome screen which used to cause a slower boot up time. Also, it used to have other bloatwares too.

      • Australian phones as far as I'm aware are no longer network locked, this has been the case for years now.

edit:… I might be wrong, looking it up now

        • Yeah but I guess network branded phone is not similar to network locked phone. Or am I missing something?
More here but article is from 2015, could have been changed now.

Incorrect. I bought an Iphone SE a month ago, network locked to Telstra. I managed to get it unlocked through Telstra's online chat.

      • For a few years Optus haven't opened the packets, they just stick the SIM card to the outside.

But any bloatware can be easily removed just by upgrading the iOS.

iPhone can't and don't have bloatware.

      • iPhones aren't branded. Apple doesn't allow or support it.

    • I'd try calling to cancel the order. Haven't tried it myself with OW but HN are usually cool with it.

Just jumped on and used my amex offer. Bargain for $300. Lets hope the $100 credit comes through. Does anyone know if the $50 optus credit is actual $50 recharge value?
