Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum V1 (AU Stock) $379 Delivered @ Kogan ($322.15 w/ Discounted Gift Cards)

700

Greetings everyone, I noticed this while looking for a deal on this vacuum. It's not the cheapest it has been on face value but can be turned into a very good deal with a combination of things.

This is Australian stock and according to the page, metro should receive this in 1-3 business days, so good for xmas. According to the user barryquinn this might vary. The only thing I'm unsure about is whether it comes with an Australian plug, but considering that it's Kogan, I believe it should.

To maximise this deal I recommend: Purchasing $380 worth of Kogan gift cards from Here, then looking for a $30 off $120 spend or $20 off credit from a user on the classifieds, this will potentially chuck it below $300 for aus stock! Very hard to achieve, but even with the gift cards it's a good price :)

I have found a few listings for these $20 off vouchers on eBay Here. Please note, I am not associated at all with this user, just noticed it then. Using this voucher alongside discounted gift cards would bring the total down to $305.15.

The user steveau explains a perfect way to get it at $308.5 Delivered.

As always, enjoy!

Will be dispatched in 1-3 business days, not received! It's a good deal. I bought one yesterday morning - it hasn't been dispatched yet, and I'm not really expecting to get it by Friday.

    • Damn, thanks for the update, I'll edit the post to accomodate. Are you in metro?

      • Yes. Sydney.

        • Has it been dispatched or received yet?

        • @la838: I bought mine yesterday 20/12, still has not been dispatched. Order page says "Expected dispatch date: 21 December 2017".

        • @la838: I bought mine on 18th. Dispatch was supposed to be on 19th. Sent email to Kogan 21st, querying dispatch date. No reply by 4:42pm 22nd! Happy Christmas!

        • @la838: Got an email re shipping out today 22/12. No tracking info though, it only says "Regular Post". So weird.

        • @sky blu: still no reply. I’ve sent off an angry email.

        • @barryquinn: I was just updating to @la838. I'd have been happy to wait if the lead time is a couple of extra days.

Give them a break. It's Christmas!

        • +1

@sky blu: you bought yours on 20th. I bought mine on 18th. You’ve received an email that yours has been shipped. My order is still processing. Give me a break.

        • @barryquinn: My order has now “dispatched”, probably from HK. I also have a tracking number. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to arrive, given the Christmas break and Australia Post holidays.

        • @barryquinn: I have news. But, don't get mad… mine was delivered this morning!

        • @sky blu: mine wasn’t. Shipping information received. Meaning still in HK, probably. Proof of receipt, please.

  • I am also on the market for robot vacuums but I am not sure about this brand. Also I don't want to spend more than $250 that's why I am looking for a second hand one on gumtree : )

    • +12

I'm sure others will chime in, but from what I've heard, this is one of the best robot vacs you can get right now for the price.

      • +7

I regret not buying it earlier. Now I almost don't do any floor vacuuming myself at home.

        • +2

Same here! Best thing I’ve ever purchased. Without doubt.

        • @Pratty:
Does this actually have the ability to learn, or set rooms?
I have had a similar one (which quickly died) but it was constantly getting stuck and you had to manually put down a laser grid to stop it entering an area.

        • @Deadalready: You can buy magnetic strip tape (or close doors) to stop it entering certain places. Unfortunately no other way is possible.

The newer model Xiaomi vacuum allows you to select different zones on your floor plan and the vacuum will clean or avoid. Also has the mopping function.

        • @Pratty: Wait I thought the "newer model" adds the mopping function, but the original/v1 still has zone-control via app?

        • +1

@sky blu: Nope, not in my experience. Doesn’t save the map of the house. Re-maps each clean.

Someone else feel free to chime in if I’m wrong.

      • +4

Best investment by far. Haven't looked back. Just bought my inlaws one using this deal!

        • WOW such positive comments! to be honest I am really surprised. So you are all suggesting to get this instead of a second-hand Roomba?

        • +4

          @kley78:

Absolutely. No question in my mind for the price.

        • @bemybubble:
          OK then. I am ordering!

        • +1

Definitely for the price. It's $1000 less than the roomba 980 and performs better in every way. Check out the comparison on YouTube. Xiaomi Mi Robot is amazing. I believe the other brands are just overpriced.

        • +1

          @humski:
          +++ this all the way

    • Going by posts here, this one is head and shoulders above anything else. I have been waiting for it to drop below $300 before I dip into my wallet. It has been very close. My wife doesn't want it but I'm just going to ask for forgiveness when the time comes.

      • Shouldn't it be the other way around lol

      • +2

It is easier to ask for forgiveness after the fact than for permission beforehand.

    • +3

I have this and absolutely LOVE it!
I also have a dog that sheds a ton and vac picks up 99% dog fur. Our house has never been so cleaned in so many consecutive days

    • +2

Highly recommended. I was on the fence for a while and wish I bought it earlier. It really does an excellent job.

  • +2

I was about to buy one of these u until i saw the new version. Vac and Moping :o

  • Great vacuum, been using it every week before the roboguy fiasco.

Says sensor needs cleaning but still havn't done so…

    • +2

Just give each of the sensors a little clean with a wet tissue (the app tells you where they all are) and then hit the reset button on the app and you're sorted.

      • +2

        Oh…
I thought needed to buy alcohol and needed to do a top notch job… Tissues and water… That I can do.

        • Haha, nah I think tissue and water will do! :)
The sensors are behind a little plastic window so you're only cleaning the window in case dust/dirt builds up on it as far as I can tell!

  • do these work well around animal accidents?

Or they do drag the poop around

    • +2

      dragdapoop

    • +1

spend the $300 so your animal doesnt poop around. you'll never going to get one that navigates around 'poop'

      • +2

fair enough. the fear of coming home with painted tiles

  • +2

Thanks heaps OP, I've been waiting for a good sale on this for a while. Managed to get it for $308.50… very happy!

    • +1

Excellent news, I knew someone would find a way to get it that cheap!

      • +2

An ebayer had a $30 voucher for $11. I then bought 3 x $100 vouchers plus 1 x $50 voucher. After the $30 off voucher was applied, I owed $349. So I spent $308.50 and still have a $1 Kogan gift card to my name :D Thanks heaps again! It was a nerve wracking experience but it worked exactly as you described.

        • +1

That's the kind of news I like to hear, that's a true bargain right there! Hope it comes before christmas (it should) :)

        • can you share the links for the ebayers please?

        • The one I bought it was a private seller and he only had a single one. I had a quick search on ebay and couldn't find any more. You might have to look on forums.

    • +1

Can you please explain how. note; I am a noob : )
please ignore this. I just saw your last comment

  • +7

    Done

    Just ordered, cost me $315

    3x100 vouchers, 1x50 voucher (3x85 + 42.50 = $297.50)

then one of those $7 vouchers that gave me $20 off any purchase over $100

That took me to $350 out of $359 - so had to pay the last $9 via paypal.

    Total spend $297.50 + $7 + $9 = $313.50

Also used cashrewards when purchasing the vouchers, so might get a few more dollars back

    • +2

      Awesome :)

    • I think there's no cashback on gift card

    • Do the $7 vouchers send it to your email straight away?

      • Yes, got mine within 10 mins .. there were a few for $6.40 when I got mine like 1 hour ago

      • Yup within a few minutes

  • Anyone got information on suction versus a v6, v7, v8 etc?

Trying to decide between this or a cordless Dyson.

Leaning towards a cordless Dyson because of better more use case scenarios but one of these would also be nice if the suction and overall cleaning power is up to snuff.

  • I'm ready to buy based on this deal. Its quite complicated finding/using the 20 off 100 vouchers, so I would be keen even to pay with 3 x 100 and 1 x 50 voucher, then pay remaining $29 with paypal.

What I cant see is on checkout screen how you redeem the vouchers rather than paying with card/paypal. Is that on the screen after where you put your name, email and phone number?

    Any help appreciated.

    • +2

You redeem the gift cards in "my account". it then sits as a credit in your kogan account

ie. you apply the gift cards to your account, not to your order.

      • Thanks Deeps. That makes sense. I've just created an account and now can see where to redeem the gift cards.

  • -1

Are they any safer than a hover-board?

I can just see these things being left to clean units for years on end. Over time the occupants forget they are there doing sucking up each day's poultice.

Then one day one fouls up with fluff, overheats or its Li-Ion battery explodes whilst charging or for some other reason, burning a tower block to the ground.

Tech frees us (to work longer and harder). Maybe also to lose our loved ones faster.

  • best thing I bought in 2017.

    Yes, that good.

  • Kogan are out of the $100 gift cards now, and you can only by 5 of the $50

  • +2

If u order Dominos online, it will give u a 30$ voucher to use at Kogan at the end.

  • +1

Thanks op and deeps for the writeup.

Took a fair bit of effort and had to make a second ebay account but got there in the end.

    Cheers fellas :)

    • Excellent news, enjoy your new vacuum!

  • I have one of those $30 off $120 vouchers. Am I able to just buy 7 of these $50 gift cards (so $350 worth), and then just use the $30 off since the vacuum is $379? Does the math work that way?

    • That’s correct, the only thing I’m unsure of is if you can use 7 gift cards in one transaction, really hope someone can answer that.

Actually, the $100 one seems like it’s back in stock so you can do the 3x $100 + 1x$50 and it will net the best result for you, $297.50 with $1 credit left over :)

      • +2

Thanks OP. I been waiting for a deal on this vacuum cleaner for a while now.

What I did was, bought 7x$50 Kogan gift card @ $297.50 using two ebay accounts. You can apply/stash all the gift cards to your Kogan account.

Then I bought the $20 off $100 spent voucher for $7 from Ebay. Received the coupon code ~10 mins after purchase. (I am not in any way associated with this seller, chose it coz it has the most sales). Paid the rest of the $9.

        So total = 297.50+7+9=313.50

        Thanks guys

  • Thank you so much OP !! And thanks also to @steveau and @deeps for the tips

Managed to get it for $303.90 :)

    • Damn so close to below $300!! Either way that’s an awesome deal for this vac :)

      • +1

It's thanks to you and the other ozbargainers which made this possible and put me in the good books with my wife :)

        • +1

Haha I’m sure your wife is going to put you into the very good books after trying this out, enjoy and have a good Xmas!

        • +1

@doweyy: Thanks.. Merry Christmas to u too doweyy :)

  • +2

Bought one of these at the last robo cleaner price wars… best home appliance I have ever bought and I am worlds worst skeptic ..I um an ahhd for ages but finally bought one with all the positive comments from so many OZB.
This unit has exceeded any expectation I had harbored….Awesome product.
Beats the Roomba n Samsung hands down.

  • +1

Best price for replacement filters / brushes?

  • GST Included?

    • +1

There should be a GST portion considering it's sold within Australia under the Kogan Australia Pty Ltd company.

  • I bought a $7 for $20 off $100. I have received the code but I don't know where to redeem it. I could redeem the other gift cards no problem.

    • +1

eVouchers are to be entered at checkout when making the purchase. Gift cards are to be added to your Kogan account.

      • +1

Sweet! Thanks for your help, I could finalise the purchase. Much appreciated.

        • +1

You should upvote this post to show appreciation for OP's post.

  • $350 worth of Kogan gift cards plus $30 off from Dominos = $297.50

Been contemplating on purchasing one of these for ages but finally bit the bullet.

    Hope its good…..

    • It is. You'll be right

  • +3

Did a bit of reading and it's not just the additional mopping function that's been added:
    -lighter
    -quieter
    -larger bin
    -higher suction power
    -infra-red sensors
    -virtual walls

Although I can't say whether or not this is worth the extra 100-200.

  • Thanks OP, I got one, total was around 292 with the discounted gift cards, I also got a $30 voucher for signing up to Kogan's mailing list.

    Great deal!

    • +1

      How did you get $292?

      • buy 350 in kogan gift cards at 15% off, then the free $30 off voucher from signing up to their mailing list :)

        • Cool, but how did you arrive at $292.00?

  • +1

Waiting for series 2 prices to drop…

  • +7

    Phew! All done!

For people who have found this confusing and too involved, breaking it down again here:

    Step 1. Buy (@ 15% off) 3x $100 Kogan voucher & 1x $50 Voucher from ebay store (its on the home page) = $297.50
Step 2. Search 'Kogan $20 off' on ebay, purchase for $7 (bought mine here https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/192401298251?ul_noapp=true) = $7
Step 3. Pay remaining $9 on card.

    $297.50 + $7 + $9 (gift cards + $20 off voucher + remainder) = $313.50

The credits are applied under my account > gift card, voucher can be applied at the payment screen choose e-voucher and punch in the code you get.

    • Awesome news, thank heaps for breaking it down once again for everyone, I knew the community would come to help me out to make it easier!

      • No problem! Thanks for posting the deal!

Im sure some people will see a few other steps to get lower prices like $308.50 or $305.15 but guys as it stands now the only kogan vouchers i could find on ebay were the $20 off ones, no $30, $40 or $50 were available.

Definitely do a quick ebay search for 50, 40, 30 first then settle for $20 if nothing comes up, $313.50 from a large well known online retailer with good return policy is still massive!

        • +3

Pretty awesome deal considering the return policy hey, really wish it got below $300 but I'm sure that'll happen one day lol!

Enjoy your new vac and have a great christmas :)

    • Have they bumped the price back up on the gift cards? I'm only seeing a lousy 5% off
      - https://giftcards.kogan.com/?utm_source=kogan&utm_medium=hom…

      • Wrong place to purchase from buddy

        eBay

        • Quote "Voucher from ebay store (its on the home page) "

          Reading error!

          Thanks Johnny-Kun
