Mountain designs have a huge pre-Christmas sale. Free delivery.

A lot of these discounts are impressive because they are rare. My picks are the Zamberlan shoe range, e.g.:

599.95 to 359.97

And the Aeropress (excellent hipster or hiker Christmas pressie)
$49.95 to $29.97

This is my first post - pls let me know if I'm missing anything.

Cheers

Nice one. Been eyeing off an aeropress for a while. Moved offices recently and no coffee machine - perfect timing. Thanks

Mountain Designs 65L Jetset Travel Pack - $49

Should be the title of this deal - just bought a pack 2 days ago for 3 times this much, spewing now!

      • There there, have a +1

        • +1

Didn't want to miss out and bought one just in case anyway!

    • +1

The backpack is an awesome find! Thanks also to OP for the original post!

Good price!! Not sure where it fits.. too big to be a carry on and a bit heavy for a travel backpack. Bought one anyways.

    • Thanks man, bought 10.

Some decent picks here. They should have held this sale earlier I've already done all my christmas shopping :'(

Zamberlan all leather hiking boots are amazing.

    • +1

I've got some Zamberlan Baltoro boots which are a couple of years old and they are really nice. Leather inner and outer, Vibram soles. Once you break them in you can wear them anytime without worrying about blisters or discomfort.

  • I'm after a pair of high sided boots waterproof for Woodford. My Kathmandus are all but warm out. I'll be doing a lot of walking and jumping around. Potential for rain and mud. Gotta be snug and comfortable. Any suggestions on which series?

    • I like my Salomon Quest 4D II GTX's. Don't know much about boots, but they seem really really good. Very snug and comfortable.

  • looks like the aeropress can't be added to cart :(

  • +1

FYI it's off RRP. Their Salomon Speedcross is $120 now (rrp 200?), i bought it for 132 normal price last year. Good price if you're in the market but nothing to jump at

    • +2

$132 isn't the normal price for them at Mountain Designs, it is more like $160-170.

I paid $150 for mine on special at Mountain Designs mid this year.

Unless the "normal" price you are talking about is from a different store, or more likely overseas.

Also important to note that this price includes the black colour, in any of their available sizes. The cheap ones on special elsewhere are normally other colours and very limited sizes.

  • Aeropress is gone!

  • +1

    Nanopresso has gone as well.

    Thanks OP, nice find.

Be careful, checked a few backpacks 50-65L and I can find better non sale prices on other site. Just check before buying

Got the metal filter for my Aeropress.
    Love my Aeropress.
    Thanks OP!

Damn, that was a great price for the Aeropress

Cheers OP picked up a school bag for daughter let see if it will last 13 years ( I still have mine which I use on day hikes)

    • The only thing better than a bargain is a bargain you never have to shop for again! Hope the bag lasts:)

  • Thanks for the post! Got a Klean Kanteen and micropur tablets. All hydrated now.

  • I bought from the outlet site and delivery was around 2-3 days.

Getting lots of broken links… :-(

    • It seems to be selling out online quick quickly - but you can also get the discount in store.

  • Anyone know if the same pricing is offered in store?
Need stuff before i leave on Sunday, won't get any items shipped in time.

Yeh just called my store (SA) for the aeropress, they have it in stock at the sale price :D

Went into a MD store today and tried on the Zamberlan Tofane boots - really nice boot, and a step up (no pun intended) from the Scarpa Trek Pro's I've been knocking about in from time to time over the past five years.

  • Suunto core seems like an ok price

Great sale. Went in store and bough a heap for me and for family. Thanks!

  • I've just been told that this is actually a closing down sale.

    • That would be a real shame if it was closing down. I went into the Preston store and it was looking quite bare which I thought was a bit odd.

    • I hope not!!

  • +1

Some really good bargains to be found, especially in store. Placed an order online only to be told when I followed up a few weeks later that the item was out of stock. Beware of this - they'll hold onto your cash for as long as they can.

  • +1

This deal is still cranking in store - I just got two pairs of pants for just $80 which was incredible. Also 2 for $10 merino socks, my god.

  • +1

    Thx OP..

Made multiple orders, hopefully they all arrive…

    Cheers…

  • This deal is no longer active. Such a shame as I was looking for an aeropress.

  • $5 tshirts back online… looks like new stock is being added all the time.

  • +1

In store is 60 to 80% off now according to the email I got.

    • Thanks for that update. I might head in to check it out.
