  • Does anyone know if the Dell Optiplex 9010SFF motherboard is compatible with the Asus Radeon RX 560 2G OC graphics card? Thanks.

  • Basically looking for the next step up from this.

    Ideal configuration for me would be a 1070/1080 with 16-32gb ram 2 x 5TB HDD and 1 x 500gb SSD if I can't find a good deal on a 1TB.

But I'm looking realistically for a GTX 1060 6gb 8gb ram 1 x 3TB HDD, 256gb SSD with wireless ac for light gaming but pushing it for all its got haha lol.

Basically want to try a bit of everything from the past few years and current gen until I find what I like.

Content creation is a maybe so leaning towards Ryzen also because of budget but Intel is definitely not out of the question.. Basically whatever great deals comes first.

Was gonna just laptop it but I'm always looking out to squeeze maximum performance out of minimum dollars.

  • Hi
What does Windoww 7 pro COA mean - windows 10 loaded?
Does this mean it has Windows 7 pro and. I can run that? (My preference as that is what I have on my laptop)

  • -1

Bought 10. Thanks OP & eBay!

  • anyone know if the 8gb 9010 be upgraded to 16 gb ram? how much and what sort of ram does it take? cheers

    • From manual (Table 16)

      Type: DDR3
      Speed: 1600 MHz

      Connectors:
Desktop, Mini-Tower, Small Form Factor: 4 DIMM slots
Ultra Small Form Factor: 2 DIMM slots

      Maximum memory: 32 GB

  • 9010 i7's Gone! Post updated

    • I bought one, wondering how much upgrade to 16gb is?

    • Must have put more on: now 4 available

    • Hi, could you please let me know how old are these desktop?

  • +3

Just made an offer on this for $250 and it was accepted if anyone is after a cheap Elitedesk 800, has i5-4670 as well:

    • sigh…
      Can confirm.

    • Everything go well with that seller? Is the unit really in 'A Grade' condition? TIA

      • +1

Hey mate, yeah no dramas with mine. Appears basically 'as new'. Very small amount of dust on the heatsink. Replaced thermal paste and installed win10 from USB with the win7 COA and it activated fine. Installed msi 1050 Ti last week and haven't had any issues so far.

Only thing, It is slightly bigger than I had expected, judging from the internal photos vs the Dell. There is loads of space around the pcie slots unlike the Dell. This may be a plus or minus depending on your usage.

        • Awesome, thanks for that. Have you installed an SSD or are you just going to stick with the HDD for now?

        • +1

@TheOneWhoKnocks: Came with a 128GB ssd (SM863 from memory). Installed windows on that, added a spare 4TB for games. It has a slot for 3.5" drive but no hardware, so you will need to get creative if you want to mount a 3.5" drive. I 3d printed the spacers/grommets and it works great.

        • @Doge: Much think, much wow. Are the spacers threaded as well? If you would, I'll buy some off you if you could manage to print me some more lol.

        • +1

          @TheOneWhoKnocks:
I tried to upload a picture but my phone is being a POS. You can see them (similar) in this ebay listing:
          https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HP-Elitedesk-8200-Hard-Drive-Opt…

It's just a stepped cylinder, mine are just hard plastic and they don't seem to make any noise. I can make you a set but it will be a while, working overseas for the next 2 weeks.

        • @Doge: All good mate. Found a set of those blue mounting screws on aliexpress for around $4 shipped.

  • Restocked 1 x 9020 i7 and 6 x 9010 i7's

  • Awesome deal. Is the HDD upgradeable in these? What about RAM? I was considering this with a LP 1050 TI and maybe replacing/ adding a second HDD.

  • I bought one yesterday and got a shipping notice last night.

Just wanted to say thanks to the OP/seller for getting them out so quick, when he/she was well within their rights to wait until the new year.

    • No worries :)

  • I think I still can live with my 8 year old dell core 2 duo XD

  • Finally a cheap upgrade to my old q6600!

I can see that the low profile gtx 1050ti will fit but I'm not sure on the current draw. The pcix16 slot in a sff motherboard is limited to 35W, the card says it draws up to 75W so will it freak out when the going gets tough?

that's why you might run a 1030ti, it only takes 30W.

  • Thanks OP already got mine in my hot little hands boxed with the upgrade I asked for not even in Brisbane. So great service there with it getting delivered to the door when it said the earliest would be Jan 3. Cheers.

    • no worries. hope you enjoy

  • Ehhhh. I do have a spare case, PSU and GPU on hand that would augment some of these rigs nicely but I need 100% confirmation about GPU compatibility. I have an i5-2500 based HP prebuilt that simply will not function at all with my RX470 because the mobo never received any bios updates.

What's the story with these rigs and an RX470?

Currently running a hilariously unbalanced Q9550 + RX470 build. Send help.

  • Can anyone confirm if an MSI low profile gtx1050ti will fit in the hp elite 800g1 case and function correctly?

    • There was an ocau post about that earlier. It fits ok and will work. The OP testified about it also. I'm planning on doing this myself but I'm a little concerned about the current draw through the PCI slot. I think you may need to underclock the GPU slightly so it doesn't draw as much power at peak processing. The slot can only supply half the TDP of the gpu but does it ever draw that much really?

      • Yeah I was worried about the 35watt limit on the pciex16 slot too, all the sff PC's seem to have it. Ive heard people speculating that the limit is superficial and the port can actually provide more the manufacturer just says it's limited to 35 watts to stop you putting anything huge in there. Bought the hp so I guess I will find out.

      • Got mine today everything is working perfectly although haven't properly load tested it yet.

  • I bought 2 of the HP Elitedesk G1 and both arrived damaged. They were ineffectually wrapped in bubble wrap such that when they slid inside the box, the power cables that were included caved in the rear of the case(s). I don't know if they POST as I will be contacting the seller through eBay first. I cannot even open the side panels due to the damage so unsure if mobo's are OK or not.

I want to neg the deal, but since I +ve before OZB won't let me.

    • Not to mention the Lego in the optical drive….

  • Ordered mine on 28th received today 3rd Jan in Melbourne. HP Elitedesk G1
Pleasantly surprised to find a DVDburner drive installed, I haven't looked for the free lego yet…

    • and also the SSD is an EVO 850 250Gb, not 120Gb.

      • oh lucky mine is not Samsung and only 128gb guess its luck of the draw.

        • Yeah but on bootup it comes up with the 'Blancco' report page and nothing else so I guess the drive is wiped but the OS not preloaded.

No word from Australian Computer Traders yet.

I'll try a fixmbr but if it's already had win10pro installed once it should activate again.

        • @dan2k: Ah unlucky, mine had windows already installed but with team viewer preinstalled for some reason

        • @joungs: All the better to capture your keystrokes?
