  • just a market research question here: is anyone really going to buy an $18 cheese pizza from dominos…?

    • +4

Sorry I can't answer, I'm on the Do Not Call Register.

    • Much cheaper than their wagyu pizzas, weren't they something like $50?

    • Lot's more than expected are. Tried to order online yesterday but they'd removed them and instead would only take phone orders. Apparently they don't have enough big pans to cope with the higher than expected demand for this pizza so they are trying to reduce the amount of people ordering them!

      • They ran out of these bases the other day, hence this offer is until 6pm, probably because they'll be out of stock by then..

  • This is also really good.

    • -8

      No, it really isnt.

      • +7

        Yes, it really is.

        • -3

Nope. You get more of the same bland, cardboard tasting dough with less toppings.

          @Orpheus:

Would you like some cheese with your whine?

        • +4

@Scab: Nah, just on the pizza like its advertised thanks.

        • @Orpheus:

          Cheesy whine is $2.95 extra.

        • +1

@Scab: Even less of a bargain then. Should add to the description/title that it's actually $23.85+ for two New Yorker pizzas.

      • +1

Wait until Amazon starts selling pizzas.

  • +2

Is this just a name or new yorkers really eat this?

  • +1

Much better deal than the one posted the other day.

  • +1

thanks gonna grab 2 for lunch.

    • -2

Promise you'll think of me as you're eating them?

      • +1

thought I could finish 1 by myself. had 5 slices.
gonna be lunch for the new few days! can't complain.

        • Make sure you reheat it the correct way - in a fry pan!

    • +1

Only 22000kj so around 3x the average adults daily intake in one meal. You'll be fine.

  • +1

For those thinking "do I go there"… Had one for lunch the other day with the kidlets. Base tastes exactly the same as Dominos classic crust. Less toppings, more cheese. I give it a meh.

    • +1

      But the size…….

      • It's the size that gets you.

        • +1

So you're telling me size DOES matter?

  • +2

    Woot WOOT!

    • +2

It's bang BANG in New York.

  • +1

    Thank you OP.
just ordered two for later 🤤

  • +2

1 for 17.95, but 2 for 25.95 (with the code) … not really BOGO!

    • +1

I got mine 2 for $17.95 with the code. Maybe the store is not participating the promotion

      • damn i hate my store

    • I think $25.95 is for delivery.

  • +1

Anyone tried ordering now for delivery AFTER 6pm?

    • +1

Their usual expiry (at midnight) coupons don't allow this, so these probably won't. In any case they'll probably run out of bases by 6pm.

  • I tried one of these and found it to very average, dog liked it tho.

    • +4

You shouldn't feed your dog crap.

  • Kelmscott WA 6111 will not accept the code.

    • +1

That's what you get for seceding from Australia.

      • +1

        Im not from Tasmania

    Hey sacb

Tried it yesterday and it's … OK.

Worth $18, No. It's the same cheese and a bit thicker than their deep pan. Better to just get 3 Cheese value pizzas, deep pan or if you want more cheese just add extra cheese to two of them.

A 'REAL' New Yorker pizza. Thinner, crust cooked longer, still foldable and better cheese (similar in taste to bocconcini, milk mozzarella), tomato sauce should be thinner and more liquidy, the end crust should be firmer. and slightly higher than the cheese and saucy part of the slice. Also typical New Yorker pizzas are 18" pies, the Dominos ones are 16". In NY a 16" is considered a 'small pie' and cut into 6 slices.

    • Learn something new every day.

    • A lot of what you described is how the pizza is intended to be made according to the CEO, however the trouble will be getting the 14 year old employees to follow the instructions. No doubt they will make it just like the other pizzas with standard amount of cheese, standard amount of sauce etc…

  • So value range still better than this.. pricewise tastewise etcwise.

Thinking if I should try one for the sake of it or nah but if there's absolutely no difference except price and size then it is a pass for me..

Anybody who has already tried this wanna chime in for me?

The novelty factor is enticing but not $18 enticing.. I'm happy with a value range at that pricing. Very happy.

    • Don't. The pizzas I received were overloaded with thick sauce and it was all you could taste. They also had hardly any cheese whatsoever while the advertising said they have 3 times the cheese of a large pizza.

The base was the regular deep pan and we couldn't fold the pizza like they say. The boxes were huge but the pizza leaves a significant gap inside.

      • Damn so just a gimmick just like I thought damn. Thanks for your input man.

    I need my GMO & antibiotic top-up.

    • Too late, it's expired.

      • I'm always late. Doesn't change the fact that I still need my top-up.
