No bonus points on sign up so no deal

  • $129 Gift card might be worth like 20000 Qantas Points?

There is a much better deal among the 3 when you sign up and the best would be the half price annual fee and 60k bonus points. The deal by OP is capped at 10k points per month for 3 months if u even spend that much per month and nowhere near the 60k bonus points…

  • Note that it's a Virgin Australia gift card so you can only use it with Virgin Australia. More specifically from the T&Cs:

The Virgin Australia Gift Voucher is available to Primary Cardholders only and provides one Virgin Australia Gift Voucher to the value of $129 (AUD) each year. You will become eligible for your $129 Virgin Australia Gift Voucher 30 days after card approval in your first year and 30 days after your card anniversary thereafter provided you have made a retail purchase as the Primary Cardholder in the 2 months prior to requesting your voucher, your account is active and in good order and you are a Velocity Frequent Flyer Member. See Terms & conditions for full details.

Agree with BeRad. No bonus points so this isn't anything more than their standard deal plus 50% off the annual fee. They usually have the same deal with the bonus points at least once a year. Pity their requirements for getting bonus points sucks compared to what it was a few years back… I guess Citibank have got more than enough customers now.

  • remember when virgin had there first credit cards with the round edge?

That lasted like 5 years and failed.

With no incentives this will fail too… It needs a good rewards program otherwise having a CC is pointless.

    • $129 travel credit and 60k points for $64 aint too bad. It's one of 3 bonus choices when you sign up.
