Per comment from PooDuck1. Gear best at AUD 127. Must have been updated since yesterday. Nice find.

Cool looking dad and kids robot.

Was looking for a kids robot programable robot. Not keen on Mindstorm for their ages yet and $$$.

This one looked quite interesting with a self balancing segway like system; Will see! Price seems lower than other sites, includign Amazon.

Notable from Amazon.com reviews:
* Compatable with Lego Bricks.
* Not compabtable wtih Lego Mindstorm electronics
* Some folks have reported missing 2 leg parts in delivery (seems rare but enough to be reported more than once)

Programmable with phone (usual kids style)

Cool looking dad and kids robot.

No good for Mum and Kids?

  • Does anyone know what phone the app works with?

  • +1

gearbest has it for $127 au https://www.gearbest.com/block-toys/pp_571922.html .The app is compatible with Android 4.3 and above, IOS 6.0 and above.
Now the bad news; it looks as though manual and app are in chinese. Actually, just found the pdf with some information for when it is built; kind of an overview in english: https://xiaomi-mi.com/home/user-manuals/

  • I think its good to support the Lego knock offs. TLG needs a massive wake up call.

If you're interested in proper Lego clones look up Lepin or KAZI.

      • +1

Yep I know about them. Typically hard core Lego collectors frown upon knock-offs but then they cry about TLG cheating/screwing Australia etc. It's hypocritical. It's no secret that TLG admitted openly at a press release that when it comes to Australia they will charge what the consumer is willing to pay.

Therefore the only real way to change their arrogant position is by supporting Chinese knock-offs. It's a no brainer, and to be rather blunt, any AFOL that can't see it is a dumb*ss.

  • Got this one. It is a good educational toy. App can be changed to 100% English. The only issue is, this can be easily paired (Bluetooth) with Xiaomi brand mobile phones but a bit of a hassle with other brand phones/tablets.

Bought from https://www.tomtop.com/p-pas0053-us.html for US $99.
