$150 off a Sleeping Duck Mattress (Free Delivery)

60
BD150

I just received an e-mail from Sleeping Duck to get $150 off any of their mattresses on Boxing Day only. They usually offer $100 off on a normal day, but the extra $50 will be good for those in the market for a good quality mattress.

Here is what's on offer on Boxing Day:

Single: $649 (usually $799)
King Single: $749 (usually $899)
Double: $949 (usually $1,099)
Queen: $1,199 (usually $1,349)
King: $1,299 (usually $1,449)

Sleeping Duck are a bed-in-a-box mattress company. You order a mattress that is compressed and boxed up, and they ship it out to you with free delivery. You unpack it and cut open the plastic and the mattress expands to its original size. After a few hours, it's ready to be slept on.

They offer a 100 day free return policy if you don't like the mattress, so it's effectively a free trial.

  • What's the difference between the koala mattress, cozybed and these?

    • +3

Sleeping duck = latex (generates a lot of heat, great for people who live in antarctica).

Koala = memory foam (foamy stuff like your memory foam pillows).

      Cozybed = no idea

I prefer Koala, because it's so effing hot.

Sleeping duck has a latex topper but is a pocket spring mattress. It also has a memory foam layer. It’s very different to a total latex mattress. Pocket spring is like a traditional spring mattress except the springs are not joined together, but instead are in their own separate ‘pockets’. You’re getting a lot more for your money with sleeping duck IMO

Yeah the Sleeping Duck mattress has latex. We initially had the medium and it did feel quite hot as you kind of sink into the mattress, so we changed over to the firm and it suited us better as you sleep on top of it if that makes sense, and it sleeps much cooler now.

  • Does anyone have any idea how thick the latex layer is on these mattresses?

  • Heya guys, for those wanting a bit of info, I've posted here:

These guys seemed great over the phone. See how I go tomorrow with the sales, but can't really be too bothered with the returns policy.

Cozybed dodgy as, fake reviews on product review, more of the reviews give rave reviews on them and then when you see their other reviews are negatives on the other mattress companies - copy of an ecosa?

Koala and Sleeping duck more legit.

To be honest THEY ALL SUCK, smell like petrochemicals. and for $1000?!?! how is THAT CHEAP?

Koala is so soft, gets hot and I am so bloody sick of seeing all these mattress company commercials on facebook.

Just go to your local mattress store and you can easily pickup a pocket spring pillowtop mattress for $700 - suppor the local small business instead of these hipster startups that will all eventually close down.

  • If heat is an issue you could look into getting a separate mattress topper.

    • ….or cheap AC from amazon AU

I thought I'd throw in my 2c here. I got a Sleeping Duck in about August, amazing mattress, the best I've ever slept on. Then Summer came and the heat became almost unbearable, I've actually ended up sleeping on the couch a couple of times cos it's was just too friggin hot. Anyway, every month or so I get a message from Sleeping Duck asking how it's going so I told them about my issues and they sent me out a new topper with some kind of "cool blast" something-or-another technology in it. It didn't cost me a cent which was pretty cool but the mattress is still a bit hot if someone or the cat (let's be honest, it's always the cat :-)) is curled up against me.

Luckily I live in Tassie so the mattress will only be uncomfortable for a few months a year but if I were up north I reckon I'd give this one a miss which is a shame cos it's such a fkn awesome mattress when it's cold.
