This benchmixer is usually between $400-$500, and the cheapest price elsewhere is $379 Shipped at Harvey Norman (who often have very good pricing on KMix). So $255 is definitely a steal, let along $229.50 with AMEX/NAB.

We have a few KMix items at home, and their quality is the best. I have a friend who was a baker, and he swears by Kenwood mixers.

See here for the NAB and AMEX deals.

  • Good deal, way overpriced in Oz compared to EU.

Yeah, got ours from Amazon Germany a few years ago.

Approx $200 from Germany with full attachments weight is approx 12kgs
Can't speak for the brand but as a comparison but you could buy 2 or 3 for the price, paying over $600 plus extra for attachments… Australia tax at work.

        • I very much doubt that is of the same quality as a kenwood…

        • This looks to be a different brand, more powerful (1200w)

This looks to be a different brand, more powerful (1200w)

Can't compare power directly between brands though… Quality of gearing makes a big difference

Good stuff! Just made the order with my Amex card that I'd registered to get the 10% cashback on.

  • We have one also (few years old now) and a few attachments…
Just bought one as a spare for whenever that one dies ;)

Finally a reason to use the Amazon Amex promo :)

  • How's this compare to kitchenaid? my mums birthday is coming up (big milestone birthday) and she's been wanting a kitchenaid for ages, but since I'm an only child and a uni student I can't afford the $$, but this might be a solid alternative.

    • This is stronger than kitchenaid at power . So you made a good decision

  • Happy with my $100 Aldi mixer, I don't think this one is $155 dearer

    • +9

      It's exactly $155 dearer….

  • choice rated the KVL6000T and KVL6100T higher than kitchenaid but those aren't on sale

    Thanks, just bought.

    thanks, got one too!
been very luck so far with these amazon boxing day sales, two things i was after at pretty damn good price.
    cheers OP

  • +2

Thank you OP, I got one too!! Been eyeing a stand mixer for like a year, but couldn't convince to shell out $500 for one just cause I like making cakes and things. I finally have one on the way now! Pretty excited *__*

  • How easy is it to return products for warranty through amazon compared to HN/JB?

  • +3

cheapest elsewhere is David jones at $299, not Harvey norman at $379. Still a very good price though and bought one myself. So upvote for that.

    • Good research, I didn't find that one.

  • Not sure if the build quality is still as good, but I've got my nan's '70s Kenwood Chef, still going strong

    • Those 70's Chefs were amazing machines, make sure you keep it for as long as possible!

The new Kenwoods are comparatively of poorer quality, and unfortunately the idea that they're better than everything else is perpetuated by the knowledge of the earlier models, not on the basis of the machines themselves.

Nonetheless a good deal on the mixer and probably the best choice at this price point.

    It is 299 now anyone?

    • Yes i was about to buy as well - it looks like the boxing day sale just ended

  • @ $299.00 its still a great deal…

    • For that price might as well grab from dj's

      • +1

Yes you have that option too, I guess its up to whatever you think will offer best service etc. Great mixer for the price.
