Yeah. Apparently, it lacks servos to raise the mop, so it'll end up just wetting your carpet. However on carpeted surfaces it increases suction power, while on flooring it reduces power.
Just what I read though.
I guess, if your home doesn't have a lot of tiled floors or if you prefer to mop yourself, there might be less of an advantage of spending more for the 2nd gen product.
