50% off All Mattresses + Free Delivery @ Onebed - ie. Queen $525

220
BOX50

I've been looking for a new mattress from one of the various mattress in a box stores and this seems like a good deal.

50% of all sizes, free delivery and 125 day trial period with free returns. Seems like a low risk option.

These mattress are well reviewed but I find all the mattress in a box retailers are suspiciously 4.5+ stars with hundreds or thousands of reviews.

They also all seem to always have some discount code, which is a bit dodgy but 50% off is the best I've seen.

I have one of these (king), love it. If you've been eyeing off any of the bed in a box brands, get this one purely because of the discount on offer - 50% is the highest I've seen also.

How hot is the bed in Summer, compared to a normal spring mattress?
I see they don't mention anything about having gel foam for coolness, just latex that's hot.

      • Not much difference from what I can recall, it's been a long time since I owned a spring mattress. Worst case you return it within the trial period, otherwise there are cooling mattress toppers you can use too.

  • A king for $575 seems cheap, bought one. Interested to see how it goes. I notice it got 88% on Choice compared to 93% for the Koala. But that was at comparable retail prices. The king Koala is $1000 with their boxing day sales, for that price difference I'll try this one.

    • How did your mattress in a box go? Was it any good?

      • Sorry only just purchased yesterday on the same deal after a bit of research, try this if u have the time http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2473017 There are a bunch of reviews out there but as the OP mentioned they look suspicious. The choice review would be impartial though. They all seem to have a decent return policy if you're not happy.

  • How is it compared to ecosa or any other mattress for low back pain user?

  • Interesting….Can you choose the firmness? Are these Australian Made? Wonder what warranty these have too?

What else did choice say about these beds?

    • Some of the companies you can but onebed only has the one firmness.

They have a 15 year warranty, which seems very optimistic.

I haven't read the choice articles but the reviews on Whirlpool that I trust are generally good and at the very least the return process genuinely seems to be hassle and cost free.

I've ordered a queen size but doesn't ship until 2nd of Jan so can't provide more of a review.

      • i tried a koala at highpoint vic and thought it was very soft but its subjective. i like firm.

My Mother has had one for about 9 months, Myself about 5 months and my sister the last few. All happy.

i would describe it on the firmer side but not in the way a firm innerspring feels, as you still have a softness that you settle into.
Coming from an old pillow top mattress which was beginning to cause my partner and myself various aches and pains, it has been a significant improvement.

Weirdly enough i would say my sister mother and ourselves have all different preferences to mattress firmness, yet we are all happy with our respective mattress from onebed. None of us have tried any other bed in a box companies though.

I haven't found them to be hot to sleep in compared to our previous mattress ethier.

    Edit,

Oh and they always seem to have some form of coupon, although this is probably the best one i have seen, i purchased my queen for $750 with a $300 off coupon, i would argue that is closer to the true sale price, Not the advertised $1050.

  • Great find. How's this for people with backpain? The product reviews look really positive — like they were incentivised

  • Just ordered a queen, I hope its good

  • Anyone ordered an ikea mattress before? The hovag/hyllestad seems quite comfortable for $400/500. Its queen measurements are 152 X 202 vs 153 X 203 for the Australian standard. Would bed sheets be illfitting? Doesn't appear to be a big difference but all salespeople give you the spin that the size is way off.

FYI for all us OzBargainers who bought into this deal:

    From OneBed customer support today.

because of the overwhelming amount of orders received during the holidays, we will be booking all the orders by batch, because our courier won't be able to handle everything in one go.

    However, once it’s sent:

same day for suburbs that are on our local delivery list

    Hope this helps,
    A

  • Thanks, Op. Ordered one. For those who wanted to compare the makeup of these various 'mattress in a box' products, you can refer to this buying guide. I found this to be very helpful.

  • These guys are half the price but I've no idea of the difference in quality: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/351835
