Bought this yesterday from HN with the Amex offer, but got them to pricematch DgiDirect at $736.20. So $536.20 after Amex and Sony cashback. I am also going overseas in a couple of weeks so will get tax back and get 5% off HN giftcards so all up $451 which I am pretty happy with.
But why not match GG's price yesterday, can make it less $400
Was standing in front of the computer at HN asking them to price match TGG when they changed the price online. The guy saw it change in front of him and I could see the smile. Pretty clear it was a pricing error, but yes was kicking myself for the next 24 hours for being 10 minutes late!
I purchased the MK2 for about 800 odd in 2013. Still going strong.
I purchased the MK3 for about 800 in 2015, big jump over MK2.
I puchased a MK4 in 2015 for about 1000, still only know how to point and shoot
But do you know how to focus? Bought the Mk3 last year, the struggle is real.
@anastasiastarz: nor sure about the mk3, but autofocus works well. Just keep tapping shoot until you get what you want in view

Yeh but I am sure the margin on these at Sony are crazy. Look at the cost of the latest MK V, for damn sure it should be water sealed.
It must be pretty difficult to design, and they won't sell many of them. It's a pretty niche product, so it's not surprising that it's so expensive.
If it was easy to design, cheap to manufacture, and there was a demand for that form factor, all the other camera companies would be making one too… but there is no equivalent from anyone else.

I'd thought about buying a Rx100 series camera but was worried it's too easy for dust to get in onto the lenses and sensor
I clean mine weekly with a cheap camera brush from ebay if it helps. All the dust for me is coming from inside the camera bag. Have yet to find a tiny vacuum.

Btw does anyone know a good course on how to use the camera? Struggling with the focus, and there's no way I'm going back instores. If I could go back I'd buy it elsewhere for more, assuming it came with better after service.

It’s incredible how this camera has maintained it’s value.
I’ve had mine for around four years and have been happy with it. There’s a slight learning curve if you want to improve your shots over what will be achieved straight out of the box and I can see there’s an ability to continue improving if you want/can invest the time.
Don’t think you can get a better compact camera at this price.
A lot of the cheaper ones are parallel imports sellers.
