  • These or the good Xiaomi similar product?

I've got the Xiaomi speaker, it's 2x 3w speakers from memory. Great sound quality, though isn't the loudest. Around the house and/or for personal use it works bloody great - plenty loud enough. Once you're in a more crowded environment (ie a few friends over having a few drinks and talking some shit) it's not ideal - doesn't go quite loud enough for that environment imo. It'll work, but once you get a sick tune on that everyone likes you won't have the volume to really crank it up or anything.

I can't comment on the quality of this Tronsmart one, but it does have 2x 20w speakers while the Xiaomi has 2x 3w speakers - in theory it should be a lot louder. Spec wise the Xiaomi lists a wider frequency range (85-20kHz compared to 115-13kHz), so I assume the Tronsmart may not sound as good.

      tl;dr:
Xiaomi = great quality sound, ideally could be louder.
Tronsmart = louder, but possibly not as good quality sound (according to specs + assumptions)

Note I'm referring to this particular Xiaomi speaker:

    • This is far better than mi speaker, 40W is enough for the outdoors.

  • That sounds very impressive from specs alone!

Were you going for "Twerk It" but in Chinese?

What’s the exchange rate on Chinese Watts?

    • +1

      1 Watt per 1 Chinese Watt, so 40W. 😜

        $44.64 dollars is money!!!

  • Found a video review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYDgoXE19Xg

Seems like you get quite a bit of distortion when you hit its 20W limit.

Using Microsoft Edge for reference. Was able to check out fine in Chrome after all the issues below. Was still quite frustrating though.

1: Payment weirdly failed (maybe I typed wrong? I'll ignore this one)
I then went to profile to try and pay for order and it asks me to select payment method. I selected card.

2: After the above it directs to a page of random text with a lot of "null" in it.. Seems it doesn't pass over information to payment gateway correctly I'd assume (not sure?)

I then went back to try PayPal instead. PayPal resulted in the same issue.
I then cancelled the order and restarted from the top.

3: Tried checking out using PayPal, though there's no 'check out' button after you select PayPal.

4: Order page takes literally ~30-60 seconds to actually show up orders. The rest of the page loads fine, then the orders load in later.

Seems to be an issue isolated to Edge. I'll let their webdevs know, thanks.

    • Apart from the cancerous ads, it's not that really that bad.

      • It's 2018 - adblock for chrome for and adguard for mobile.

        • I use a hosts-based adblocker, which works wonders for most everything, but since they host their own banners it doesn't intercept them and I can't be fussed running an in-browser adblocker as well (which wouldn't do anything for 99% of sites)

There are no ads on GeekBuying. Unless you mean the promo banners? You can use adblock to block those if you don't like them.

  • Had a look at a few of the reviews. The speakers don't seem to be rated well because of distortion even at 30% volume.

  • Took a chance and ordered this. Thanks for the share and hope to update once it arrives in 15-30 days ;)

I am a bit of a Bluetooth speaker junkie and I would be wary of this as the sound quality does not appear to live up to the specs. In this price range my recommendations would be the Logitech X300 or the Original XiaoMi Bluetooth 4.0 Speaker.

Both are a fair bit smaller than this Tronsmart, so won't give you as much bass, but they have well balanced sound for listening at low to moderate volume levels. Both have been on sale for around $30 in the past, so you could wait for a deal to get them cheaper if you are not in a rush.
