  I got a $50 case of various mounts from China via eBay. All aftermarket but never had an issue with them many years later.

    I was about to pull the trigger on exactly this. Given its a $350 camera, i dont want it to eat dirt if possible, are the ebay "80 piece" kits much worse than the stuff you see in harveys/jb etc..?

    There is a vast price per piece difference

      If you run into a wall, any piece of plastic will fail. I've used the China mounts for snowboarding, kiteboarding, scuba, snorkel and general travel. I mean it's just two pieces of plastic slotted together with a metal screw through it! Probably all comes from the same factory. Just put the floaty orange thing on it so it floats.

      I would never cheap out on the waterproof cases though. 40m underwater you don't want to take chances!
