    ITS JUST A PUNKT BRO.

NEW10 coupon was a targeted coupon to certain users, so will only work for those whom it was targeted.

    • +3

That, and it expired a couple of days ago.

    • Good point. OP please amend description to show NEW10 is targeted and add P5OZZIE for 5%. Your 'edit' button is between 'view' and 'revisions'.

This used to be the desirable brand in Germany.

They used to make good car stereos. Manufacturing moved to China and I don't think quality is much good, since no one really talks about it ever.

      • +2

never knew they made tv's other than stereos~ @@

        • +3

I don't think they did. I'd say this is a generic TV slapped with Blaupunkt branding in hopes to make it look good, since some may not know it was sold.

        • @no not me: Ah cheers mate, was wondering about the durability and quality of a tv of such price…

Manufacturing didn't move to China in that sense but the name was sold off to the Chinese in the end.

  • Super duper cheap! I remember Blaupunkt was a good quality brand in the 80s. Not sure now.

This is the reason this practise of destroying brand names exist…..

This is absolute rubbish with a formally reputable name stuck on, a disgraceful practice that shouldn't be allowed.

      • I agree with the lament but

disgraceful practice that shouldn't be allowed.

Why? Brand name is an asset just like factory equipment and intellectual property.

Only a fool buys a product for its brand - smart buyer evaluates the product on its own merits.

  • I used to have a blaupunkt tv when I was kid.
Very good tv in those days , not sure now

    • Unfortunately just another generic Chinese brand now. One of many badges to be stuck on a generic chinese TV I reckon.

  • My 2010 VE commodore had a BLAUPUNKT OEM stereo headset which was the shittiest sounding stereo I have ever heard in a car. Also, according to wikipedia:

"After a troublesome past and several changes in ownership and reorganizations it filed for bankruptcy in late 2015[2] with liquidation proceedings completed in early 2016".

Not sure how the 3 year warranty is suppose to work if the company doesn't exist anymore.

    • BLAUPUNKT is now BRANDKAPUT!

The NAME is purchased for use by a Chinese manufacturer to stick onto their crap TV so they can sell it for heaps more. There is a warranty but this is not anything to do with Blaupunkt.

What do you expect when you put a decent but lower end headunit in a car with no attention to detail with cheap speakers, poor wiring etc. It's like lipstick on a pig. But blame the headunit when the real issue was Holden.
