Telstra 7GB for $29/Month When Upgrading from Prepaid to Postpaid 12 Months Min

200

logged into my telstra account to find a targeted offer for prepaid services.
Reading the T/C's, it looks like you have to hold at least 2 services with telstra. Data does not roll over but you continue to get the bonus data after the 12 months.

Not huge data, but some may find it enough data rather than pay the recent 20GB/$49pm plans from JB.
Haven't spoken to Telstra yet, so not sure what else is included such as apple music.

Switch from Pre-Paid to get a huge 7GB (2GB + 5GB bonus data) of shareable data for just $29/mth (usually $39/mth) when you add a new SIM only plan to your account. Get all the extras exclusive to Telstra mobile customers on a plan. Minimum cost $380 over 12 months.

By changing to a Telstra Go Mobile Plus SIM only plan you’ll lose any unused portion of your previous Pre-Paid offer such as credit talk, text and data.

Plan Go Mobile Plus $29 BYO plan
Plan Type $29 per month(normally $39/mth)
Total Data Allowance 7GB (2GB + 5GB Bonus data)
Minimum Cost $348 over 12 months
Plan Length 12 months
Included Calls $500 Calls and unlimited SMS to standard Australian numbers
2 Minute standard call is $2.
International Calling pack for unlimited standard Calls/SMS from Australia to 15 eligible countries.

  4. Go mobile Plus BYO Plans/Go Mobile Plus Casual Plans: Excludes calls/SMS/MMS to premium numbers, 12xx, satellite numbers, content charges and use overseas. Allowances expire monthly. 2 min standard call $2.

  7. "Get a huge 7GB." I think the Virgin deal is better if you can do Optus.

Pretty good deal for the "premium" network, considering I currently get 3GB for $25, I'd be willing to pay $4 extra for 4GB extra :)
Confusing though, what does this mean "Data is shared across your mobile data share services on the same account. For use in Australia. Unused allowances expire monthly."
    Data is shared across accounts?

If you have more than one service on the same billing account, they become in a shared data pool.

      • Exactly, I have 3 SIM's with 15/15/0.1 so we all get 30.1GB per month.

Also point out the $49 plan is unlimited calls/texts, this is only $500 calls.

    • Actually it’s pretty good, you can get an extra sim for $5/m and it shares the data allowance.

  • Found the same deal on my dad's postpaid account except the condition is 'when you add a new SIM only plan to your account.'

I get the same deal too to add a sim

      • think telstra charge $5 per month if you want extra sim for ipad, or wifi modem …. if you don't have another full service sim to add.

I would have jumped on it with unlimited calls

  • I just finished speaking to Telstra LiveChat about this.

    From what I can tell:
    - the international calling pack is NOT included. It's an extra $10 per month.
    - you basically get the $39 package with extra data and a $10 per month discount

Everyone's requirements are different. This is a pretty good deal, but I think the $40 Prepaid Extra plan works better for me.

If you want to accept the offer, you need to start a live chat and say you're interested in the offer. You place the order, and give LiveChat your order number. And they will adjust the monthly billing amount.

    • So they said the extra data continues after the 12 month contract. What about the $10/month discount?

      • I asked Live Chat, and they said the price and quota would continue after the contract ends.

They also told me the offer ends Jan 31.

  • Anyone success in gaining this for a ported service?
    Boost to Telstra
    Or
    Optus/Voda to Telstra?

I'm looking to get more value than $30at boost

I hate when Tele companies use $ to measure the amount of calls you can make under a plan. It’s meaningless, I can offer you $500,000 worth of calls every month for a rate of $10000 per minute. Does it make a better value?

    • yeah … unlimitued call and sms in Australia seems to be the voda and optus baseline …. wish telstra would get onboard and stop confusing people on various $$ per minute rates .

  • Anyone success in gaining this for a ported service?

Just rejected via live chat for this deal for single port from Optus. I guess they do not want new customers just maintain existing.

I've just signed up (today) to a Telstra plan - but I think the guy was in the cancellations team (since I was actually calling to change over my NBN but he provided me with a decent deal there too -i.e. no contract but will send through the NBN modem to see if service quality is up to scratch - if not I can cancel anytime) - very helpful staff member who gave me for $29/month :

9GB data plus Unlimited calls and SMS on a 12 month contract.
Ported from Vodafail after having my number with Orange, 3 then Vodafail.
For that price I reckon this plan is tailor made to what I was looking for (sub 30 plan with unlimited calls / texts and on the Telstra 4G network).
For info this is the BYO 39 Plan except with 7GB more data and unlimited calls texts instead of 500 dollars worth.
Very happy with the deal and having seen the speed / coverage on the Mrs' family and friends 59 plan I am quite looking forward to it.

  • @dilipsea how did you managed that. A fantastic deal. I tried calling them and told them your story and they told me no such plan as that was probably because you're an existing customer. Do you have a name or any proof so I can sign up to to the same deal please. Thanks.

    • have pm'ed you

      • If you wouldn't mind pm me the details too that would be great!

        • Can you pm me too @dilipsea ?
          Thanks!

FYI: Here's a link that should be able to get you the deal as posted by the OP (You need to supply a pre-paid phone number Telstra, Voda, Optus etc)

    • Excellent, thanks!

  • Hey dilipsea, can you please pm the details too. Please

  • @dilipsea pls can you send me the details also?

  • Hey@dilipsea. Could you please send me the details too!?

  • Hi, to all those that have asked above - now that I have the phone up and running and can see my usage I guess it's safe to put it on here (i.e. without telstra trying to change their mind):
hi i spoke to a guy named LUCETON at Telstra - excellent customer service person - and yes have confirmed that is exactly the deal that I will be getting (29 dollars per month for 9GB and unlimited calls/texts on a 12 month plan). I don't have his number (apart from the get back in touch with me link but even that didn't get him on the phone - got some other person) but know that I initially was connected to him through the broadband disconnections team. hope you have some luck. am pretty satisfied that this is exactly what I needed.

  • Is this deal still available?
