  • Any idea if they cover flights that are redeemed with frequent flyer points?

    • +1

It should. It covers the travel, not the means it was purchased/funded with.

However, if it comes time to claim and your claim actually related to flight cost (rather than e.g. sickness or luggage) then it would need to be assessed what the cash value was as the coverage is in dollars. If you wanted to find out how that would be determined you should contact them.

Actually, I just checked their terms and they explicitly state so no need to contact them.

"Where an airline ticket was purchased using frequent flyer or similar air points, we will pay you the frequent flyer or similar air points lost following cancellation of your air ticket. The amount payable will be calculated as follows:
      (i) If the airline will not refund your points, we will pay you the cost of equivalent class air ticket based on the quoted retail price at the time the ticket was issued.
(ii) If the airline will only refund a portion of your points, we will pay you the cost of the equivalent class air ticket based on the quoted retail price at the time the ticket was issued, less the value of the portion of your points refunded back to you."

      • Thanks for looking into this for me. I went with Covermore for a trip i did in November to Germany. Might give these mob a go instead if its cheaper.

Appreciate the post OP but you can get 20% off Insure and Go via Groupon. No need to buy the groupon just use code groupon20. Must redeem by June 30, 2018. You can buy insurance for up to 12 months before the trip so good for trips until June 30, 2019.

  • Forget it.

A web chat where none of my questions could be answered - simple things surrounding scooter hire. I was told by a very disinterested agent to phone the help line instead.

After 20 minutes in a telephone queue I gave up, so maybe they don't need new business. Imagine if you were making a claim!

    Hopeless.

    • I have had issues with getting claims through them and they were extremely resistive to paying out. In the end they didn’t and I claimed the full amount elsewhere

  • Doesn't Groupon give a 20% off for this insure n go??

    Just checked.
Comes through pretty much instantly from Groupon. Free
