Went to Sealife in Sydney last week. It hasn't changed in 15 years.. if you've been once I wouldn't recommend it again. I only went to take my kids. The lines were atrocious, it was super busy, they weren't moving people through… toilets were disgusting.

Best time to avoid would be during the summer holidays. Loads of tourists and school kids.

This can also be used online at each aquariums website. Promo Code is 1306

Just tried it and Sea Lie Melbourne says that there are no packages found

      • I tried it for Sydney and it worked. I intially tried adding two adult tickets to my cart, then adding the code, it added a full price ticket then a free one

        • Do you have to redeem the offer online? Or can you redeem it at the aquarium?

        • Where do you enter the promo code? I am upto the step where i need to input Credit card details and still have not seen where to enter the promo code

    • I can vouch for this, worked for me online.

      • Where do you enter the promo code?

        • After clicking through to purchase: on mobile, click menu and the first option should be to put in promo code; on desktop, it’s all the way at the end of the top bar.

    • I'm not being given the option to enter the promo code online for Melbourne. Anyone else having this issue?

  • I visited SEA LIFE Sunny Coast last year and although it has changed a lot since I was a kid I still think its worth a visit. The seal show was entertaining and walking through the tunnel underneath massive sharks and rays is really cool.

  • Child tickets are still expensive at $28.00.

  • Is this offer available every year?

What is your guys' opinion of the Melbourne one?

    • Only ever been to 3 aquariums in my life, Osaka, Sydney, and Melbourne.

The Melbourne one is probably at the bottom of the list for me. Having said that, it was still a good day out though, if you're into looking at animals.

If you take the price of the ticket into consideration though, I would say its normally 100% not worth going.

    • It depends on what you want from an aquarium. My kids love the Melbourne one, but they're 2 and 3 so they love the pet store just as much.

The Melbourne aquarium has little features throughout to get the kids involved, like pop up bubbles in the tanks so kids can 'put their head in', stamps to collect along the way, an interactive display where they can draw their own fish and upload it to the digital aquarium and a basic touch tank.

They also have an auditorium, walk through tunnel and huge room which are all connected by the shark + ray tank.

The crocodile can be seen from ground level or above through a glass floor. There are heaps of penguins which are very easy for little people to see.

I did the Singapore Aquarium a few months back, I fear nothing will ever compare again.

  • I just tried to buy tickets for the Sunshine Coast but couldn't see where to enter the promo code.

  • can I use complimentary ticket for a kid or I have to child ticket separately?

  • Link seems broken, can't find page on the website
