Ozito Power X Change 18V 4.0ah Li-Ion Battery $39.89 (Was $75) @ Bunnings Warehouse

920

A big price drop on these batteries at the moment, handy for anyone who has the ecosystem, the 2.0Ah are also down to $29 but for $10 you can double the capacity. Likely matching Aldi.

  • Anyone have feedback on Ozito's blower (https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-power-x-change-2-x-18v-bru…) and mower (https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-power-x-change-18v-cordles…)?

For the blower, it would appear it produce a higher cfm (476cfm vs 450cfm) compare to Ryobi 36v Jet Blower (https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-36v-5-0ah-jet-blower-kit_p…)

I've been using the mower for a month or two. Mowing about once a week. Does the job fine. Very compact so only good for small lawn areas. My lawn is the nature strip in front of my house (about 10m x 1.5m) and the small backyard (about 3m by 5m). Works best when you mow the grass when dry and don't leave it too long otherwise it will struggle. You can of course cut higher first and then lower the mower for a second trim. Just adds time. Again, this is fine when you have small lawn areas. 4ah battery only dropped 1 bar (out of 3) after mowing both lawns twice.

Anyone buying these batteries I would recommend that you pickup a usb Adapter for it as well.

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-power-x-change-18v-usb-pow…

It allows you to use them as a power bank.

    • Yeah, I just haven't bothered due to the lack of QC etc. Have been tempted to get one and hack it with guts from a QC charger but alas my spare time is completely consumed with the house reno at the mo :)

    • I use my xiaomi Wi-Fi repeater in mine to stream music outside and in the shed.

    • 72Wh for the 18V/4A one.
      36Wh for the 18V/2A one.

    • pickup a usb Adapter for it as well.

Or just attach a car-lighter socket.
A good car-usb adapter will operate on 12-24V in, and do QC fast-charge.

Was hoping Bunnings would drop the price of the power x change hedge trimmer to match the Aldi one too, but no such luck as yet. Bunnings matched the Aldi pole saw and batteries a while back.

Can recommend this for these batteries: https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-power-x-change-18v-usb-pow…
Plug your xiaomi mini led lamps into them, makes a nice camping light.

    • yeah, a hedge trimmer is on my 'buy when on sale list'

    • Have a look on Gumtree, the Blowers and trimmers come up quite often.

    • Got the hedge trimmer a while back, very happy with it and saves me so much time.
Hope it goes on sale soon so you can get on to it too!

  • Hi All,

I am after a good impact cordless drill driver for my project (and later use for everyday housework only) - would anyone know any good deal running on?

    Thanks,
    Michael

  • Does anyone have the Inflator (https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-power-x-change-18v-240v-hy…) and can test the PSI output for me? I need to pump 140PSI and it doesn't say on the box or specs how high it can go (just says 'high pressure'). The guy wouldn't let me unbox/test it in store.

      From the user manual (pdf)
      Specification
Input: 18V (DC) or 230-240V (AC)
      No Load Speed: 16,000/min
      Max Pressure: 160PSI (11Bar)
      Flow Rate: 10L/min @ 30PSI
      Weight: 2.2kg

      • Thankyou both. I stupidly didn't even think to check the actual manual after not finding it on the spec list and the box.

  • Will this fit ryobi tools?

    • Dont think so. However to Milwaukee battery to ryobi 18v yes. It will be awesome if it does. Someone needs to 3d print it and sell it on ebay!

  • Looks like a price drop instead of sale? My 2 little 2.0ah still fresh, if it's price drop, I don't need to rush and get this!?

I'd say it's a temp price drop as per last time. Don't get one if you don't need one. I'd say there's a high chance they'll drop the price of these often but of course there's no guarantee of that!

This is a sale to match an upcoming sale at Aldi's, so will only last a week or so.

    • +1

Aldi seems to roll out their tools once a quarter these days. If your current one did fail, you're never going to have more than a few months before you can pick up a cheap one again

  • Are these batteries can fit on ALDI cordless mower? Brought a ALDI cordless mower when on sale, but couldn't find batteries in any of the ALDI stores.

    • No, but Aldi will likely have some now/soon as this is why Bunnings are dropping their price to match.

      • Aldi batteries start tomorrow (10th jan). Same price.

  • Does anyone know if these batteries are compatible with the Ozito Power X Change 18V compact drill driver kit that was on sale a couple of weeks ago, the one with the 71 accessories & the 1.5Ah battery?

Edit: I am referring to this drill driver https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/351332

    • +3

Yes, that's the point of the Ozito Power X Change range.

  • I am looking for Makita 18V batteries does anyone know a cheap alternative.

  • I have this: https://ozito.com.au/products/18v-nicad-cordless-hammer-dril…
Both my batteries are dead (and only had a 6 month warranty vs the 3 years on the drill itself).
Are the connectors the same and can Li-Ion replace NiCad? If not, I guess it's time for a new drill…

    • I don't like yr chances… and you should've jumped on this a few weeks ago: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/351332 as the replacement. I grabbed one just to use when the bigger Brushless stuff is too much for the task at hand. Great little kit for the money and is a cheap way to get into the Ozito Ecosystem however it looks as though these kits are no longer listed on the website… but would be good to check your local Bunnings for stock as there may be some still floating around. Note that they're sometimes not in the Tool section so best to ask and get them to check.

      • Would have jumped on that but I need a hammer drill.
This sits somewhere in between driver and brushless hammer I assume? https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-power-x-change-18v-compact…
Should I pay more for the brushless? The most I do it drill holes in brick (hence the need for hammer)…

        • Yeah, that Compact Hammer Drill would be fine. Buy it as 'Skin only' then grab one of the 4.0Ah batteries from this deal and then add a $25 charger and you'll have your own kit for $15 less than the kit version plus you'll have a higher capacity battery to boot!

Alternatively, see if there's something else you might want that's available in kit form then grab it plus the Hammer Drill Skin… or just wait for the Hammer Drill Kit to go on sale.

    • Did you buy it with a credit card with warranty extensions? Ps. No.lithium can't be charged with a nicd charger

      • No, just the standard warranty.
I realise it can't be charged with the NiCad charger, but can the Li-Ion battery power the older NiCad powered drill?

        • Yep, no problems as long as the voltages are close.

    • To answer my own question, no, this battery does not fit the older style NiCad tools (different pin layout and physically doesn't snap in). On the flipside, I'm now the proud owner of the brushless hammer drill, charger, three batteries and the little USB charger. On the flipflipside, now whenever I see Ozito Power X deals, RIP my wallet.

  • Ozbargainers love batteries, first eneloop, than xiaomi powerbanks, then this hardware batteries too.

  • Thanks bought one.
