  • Please add online price only + shipping costs

  • So this is really 6 months of XBL for $37.5

Anyone know if this is the best value?

I don't care about shady sites for this one.

    • Equal to $75/year… not great

      $63.29 @ CD Keys, or $60.13 after 5% discount

    • Go in store for 68. Good price if you don't want to mess around looking online. Otherwise good price if you're only looking for 6 months.

I renewed my xbox live gold today with the 12 month subscription for $53 directly via Microsoft using the instructions posted here … https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/343144

Note, you need to access your Microsoft account using a mobile browser such as tablet or mobile phone. I used Chrome on an Android tablet without any problems. Was able to buy 2 separate lots and stack my subscription for 2 years!

    • Legend! You should post it as a separate deal or unexpire the old one.

I followed the instructions here and it worked in Chrome on desktop (in incognito).

FWIW my live gold was due to expire in Feb 2018.

      • Did it work now, I can't get it to work despite using multiple different browsers, on both desktop and mobile

        • +1

It worked for me ~25 minutes ago (as this is the first I had seen of this method).

        • @djkelly69: Thanks, not sure what I'm doing on my end

@RMBC: Will tell you what I did, see how you go:

          1. Open new incognito tab in Chrome on desktop (no need to close other open windows).
          2. Copy and paste this link into the address bar: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/store/p/xbox-live-gold/cfq7t… (It shows price as AU$79.95.)
          3. Sign in to Microsoft Live account.
          4. Goes back to previous screen, and now says " AU$79.95 AU$53.00 incl. GST save AU$26.95".
          5. Purchase in usual way.
        • @djkelly69: Thanks for trying, unfortunately it still comes up as $79.95. I really appreciate the effort, hopefully this helps someone else!

        • @djkelly69: worked for me, thank you! If it helps, it didn't work last month when I tried it, but my son's subscription was due to expire tomorrow.

        • @djkelly69: this worked for me just now… used Chrome Ingognito mode on my iPhone. Will try again once I get paid to see if I can get an extra year hah

        • @djkelly69:

Did you previously have an xbox live membership on the Live account you signed into? I am wondering if that is my problem as I cant seem to replicate the discount. Thanks

        • @life is a little crazy: Yes, I had purchased/used a 2 year code previously, which was due to expire in early Feb.

  • Interesting I rang my local stores (Phoenix & Gateway) and Julia confirmed they will do it as listed price minus postage.

She was confised why there was a delivery charge for codes. I tested it as it did ask for postcode for selivery, standard charge $3.50

Anyways in-store they provide 2 codes; 1 paid and 1 freebie.

  • ok I have worked out what the problem was, so hopefully will help others. I followed the instructions as per the comments, but I was not signed into the right Microsoft account which was associated with the xbox live membership, once I changed the account, it came up as $53.
