  • How does this compare to LGs OLEDS?

    • +5

This is essentially a slightly improved LED LCD TV with better colour production, it's not comparable to an OLED TV.

      • +1

So, you suggest getting an LG OLED instead? I am deciding between the two as well.

        • Any OLED, doesn't have to be LG.
Until MicroLEDs or true Quantum Dots come out, at current OLED prices (at least 5 years away), OLED still gives the best picture quality.
Benefit of LCD-LED is that it is brighter, so if you have a lot of light in your room, and watch a lot of TV in the day, OLED can suffer.

  • +1

OLED is the superior technology.. its been out for 4 years and dominating Samsung..

    • Yes, but I've found the LG TVs extremely lacking in the software and user interface.
Not really valid, because Samsung are worse.

I'm waiting on a new generation of 80inch from Sony, or sharp. Preference is sharp.

Some of the Chinese brands are worth watching at the moment too.

      • Sharp pulled out of the Australian market years ago..

        • Darn… Perhaps I got one of the last models then.

  • Careful guys, they may jack the price when you're in the midst of checking out. I wouldn't put it past them.

    • Yeah a Sony 70" they put the price up 5 times lol
