    But I'm over 5 foot 8…..

Should probably add via Guangzhou in the title, otherwise it sounds like a direct flight. Also stopover times in description.

I don't think anyone will expect this to be a direct flight. It's quite literally the other side of the world. Ok, maybe not literally, but I believe it's beyond the range of modern aircraft.

        My concern is possible misrepresentation.

        PER-CAN-LAX paints a better picture than PER-LAX.

        1. There is a stopover at Guangzhou.
        2. There is stopover time.
        3. There is extra flight time.
        4. Therefore there is a higher overall journey time.

beyond the range of modern aircraft.

Incorrect. While there are currently no direct flights for PER-LAX, it is still within the capability of modern airliners. PER-LAX is 15000 km. Airbus A380 and A340-500, Boeing 787-9 and 777-200LR, all have a range beyond that, with the highest being 17400km.

However is it possible when considering weather, opportunities for diversion landings, and minimum fuel requirements established by the Australian and US regulators? I don't necessarily think so.

          What misrepresentation??
A Chinese airline stopping in China en-route to the US. Seriously?
          Dear oh dear.

        • @JudoChop: Better than a Malaysian Airlines flight with a stopover in Russia I guess.

        • @richox: Yeah, somehow I don't think authorities support planes flying until they run on fumes…. I believe all currently existing routes are below 15,000km.

        • @Make it so:
Yep, current longest commercial flight (according to Wikipedia) is:
          Auckland-Doha on Qatar Airlines 14,524km.
          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longest_flights

The new Qantas Perth - London Direct flight will be close to that (around 14,498km).
