Dell UltraSharp U2415 - $415 - 20% = $332 Delivered @ Mediaform eBay

PCTECH

Dell Ultrasharp monitors generally live in the sweet spot between price and performance (colour accuracy, latency, resolution, etc)!

AFAIK local stock, but only 10 available at the moment…

There's also a Dell U2717D for $685.80 - 20% = $548.64. Though you might be better off with the U2715H deal for $512 already posted.

I can't believe 16:10 monitors are still being sold in 2018! This is a good thing, btw.

    • I know right - I have a couple of Dell Ultrasharp 30" 16:10 2560x1600 monitors at home, and wouldn't trade them for the world!

Am tempted to get a 55" UHD TV as monitor, since not as rich as Al. :-)

I have the Dell 24" 16:10 as well (2412M). It may not seem like much but the extra pixels are worth it!

I can’t believe why anyone would use 16:9 monitors at all for any work? 16:9 is great for media consumption but not so good for working

    • +1

I used to doubt the productivity gains 16:10 users touted, but it's true.

  • How does the P-series compare to Ultrasharp?

Kogan has the QHD P2418D for $350+del.

Seems silly to buy a big desktop display that has fewer pixels than my phone or laptop.
The U2415 is only slightly better than FHD. Great otherwise.

Not exactly sure, but you'd have to do a similar similar comparison to the one for a different model in the linked review:

An obvious question is whether the U2414H is better or not than the P2414H model? The U2414H currently retails for £201.60 GBP (inc VAT) whereas the P2414H is slightly cheaper at £174.00. The main differences you need to consider are:

      • The connectivity options - the U2414H has 2x DisplayPort and 2x HDMI (with MHL) whereas the P2414H has DVI, VGA and 1x DisplayPort. You need to establish which is more suitable for your needs. The U2414H's HDMI is an added bonus for external games consoles and DVD/Blu-Ray players. The U2414H also has USB 3.0 whereas the P2414H has older USB 2.0 ports only.
      • Design - the U2414H has the ultra-thin bezel design so may be more suited for multi-screen setups. It also has touch-sensitive buttons if that it important to you.
      • Performance - overall, both are very comparable. The U2414H has a better default setup and the additional factory calibration brings about some extra accuracy. If you're doing more colour critical work and don't have a calibration device the U2414H has the edge. Other aspects like contrast ratio, response time, lag, viewing angles etc are very similar between the two models. Both have a light AG coating, flicker-free backlight and low levels of IPS glow.
  • I have these monitors, one advantage is lots of connection options, one big drawback for me is that the source wont auto switch when a new device is connected/activated. EG We have 2 laptops connected via 2 different docks. We were hoping when one laptop was docked it would auto switch to the new active input but it does not and it cannot be resolved. the soft touch buttons make switching a bit painful but manageable.

Nice, those are some pretty damn good prices!

These are 16:9 and the monitor posted is 16:10 so not a direct comparison. I find a 24" 16:9 too short vertical.
