Johnnie Walker is up there still laughing at all the people buying blue label

    • Why?
      I don't drink Whisky btw

      • +1

Maybe something to do with premium blended malt?

        • +2

          Its not a bad whiskey

          @xcal:

You can get WAY better for that money.

        • @jayman450:
Define better? Whisky is very subjective.

        • @xcal: i am jusy replying to the guy above. I don't have a problem with blue.

          Green aint so bad either.

        • @jayman450:

          Like what?

        • @montorola:

          Try Balvenie 12 & Aberlour 12. Lovely…

        • @whorishmouth:

how much does Balvenie 12 go for these days?

        • I have 8 different whiskies at home, the mood depends on the style I like to drink.
Some cost more the JW Blue, most less, they are just different.

        • @Skramit:

It is subjective, but you can still tell bad from good from excellent - like wine!
The Blue is 'Good' for an 'Excellent' price.
Try an Aberlour 16, 18 or Abunadh for example - all of which are 'Excellent' at a 'Very Good' price

As far as blends go it's a nice drop, but it's price point is highly inflated when sold at rrp.

Nothing wrong with blue label it's quite nice. Everything wrong with the price for blue label and the value it represents.

Blue label is like iPhone whisky. Its not that good but everyone's doing it even though it's expensive.

It's priced as a premium product …. many more expensive whiskies are to be had.

Because even blended whisky has ages material in it, some of it very old, they price the product so that they don't run out and age more old material.

Unfortunately it's not like gin or vodka which doesn't need to be aged, malted, or stored in oak barrels, whisky is aged, and the base materials have their own characteristics.

People love to bag blue because it’s an expensive blend buts it’s super smooth and very drinkable IMO. If youve never tried blue, this is a a great price for 800ml and they make great little gifts too.

  • Usually not a fan of Blue Label at $200 a bottle, much better drops at that price.
But at $130 after cash rewards had to grab a case.

    Thanks OP

  • Sold out

  • Thanks OP… seems I bought the last case

    • or you can just drink petrol, taste the same as red. lol

  • I'm not a fan of blue label at all. But for those who are, or for those who just want to show off, this is an excellent deal.
