"Cashback is payable for new customers - valid on Classic, Family and Veggie Boxes only and ongoing subscriptions". So if I deactivate the subscription immediately after my 1st purchase, am I still able to earn cash back?

    • mine question as well

      • Answer to that is yes. I just got the cashback and cancelled it instantly.

    • It says the reward takes 7 days to be credited to your account. So I have gone ahead and purchased my first box. I have then skipped a couple of weeks (a month to be sure) and put a remind on my phone to cancel the subscription after 2 weeks.

I will check after two weeks if I have the cashback then i will cancel the subscription indefinitely if i find this too expensive.

  • Hello Fresh doing dodgy door knocking in a neighbourhood near you. Had one tonight between 6 and 7pm. Just finished dinner. Toddler been cranky all day.

Getting ready for bath and bed for her when the doorbell rings. I tell the salesperson "not interested thank you" and as I close the door they have the gall to say "may i ask why?" Then I hear them continuing to talk when I'm locking my door.

I'll now be actively telling people not to go with Hello Fresh.

Mate, print and stick this on your door.

I also dislike being bombarding by salespeople in every shopping centre I go to. Very annoying!

    • They also do train stations and other busy hubs

We have tried Hello Fresh a couple of times, and decided it is not for us.
    Our reasons:
    - The recipes are published, but you can only choose all or none. We found the menu to be too limiting and we would usually end up with one dish that we didn't really want or like.
    - The cut-off for ordering/pausing etc is a week ahead of the delivery date (for us). We found this inconvenient, as our plans changed in the interim.
    - We are in Melbourne; all the ingredients received appeared to be from NSW. The food-miles for each shipment is crazy.
    - They have made changes to their packaging, but we found that a paper bag for each separate meal's ingredients was overkill (in our minds). Surely all the ingredients (for the multiple meals) in one box should be sufficient; people can sort it out from there.
