    • How do you turn off the beeps and LED? I can't find a way or button to turn those damn thing off!

      • There are two buttons on the remote.
One for the beep and one for LED.but when you turn power off there is no memory.

      • +1

You can turn off the LED by holding in the power button on the fan itself for 3 seconds.

Note as soon as you press any other button it turns the display back on.
So make sure you put the fan on the setting you want before turning the screen off.

Unfortunately you can't turn off the LED using the remote control.

From what I can see there is no way of turning off the beeps

        • Wow it works! Thanks!

        • @Cocobear:

          You're welcome.

Only received my fan today but it's fantastic.

Wishing that I would have purchased a second one when they were on sale.

        • @lovesabargain77: Agree with you. Should have bought another one.

  • 26 speeds!?? 26 speeds ranging exactly between the 3 speeds of a cheepo?… how much faster does it get compared to a $15 one?

    • +3

umm do you know much about DC fans. unlike the standard ac fan there actually is a difference in breeze and power consumption. On the Kogan DC fan power usage goes from 2 to 25W. On the standard ac fan power usage on low med hi is 70/70/85. And yes i tested it with a power meter. You know, its not just about speed!

      • so the $12 bunnings pedestal fan uses 70watt ?

      • My tower fan is rated at 45w max. I think I measured it at 30w on low setting.

Even so, you do realise its only about 23c/kwh right ? Given the premium for a dc fan, its gonna be a long payback period.

        • Sure, but that depends all on usage. If you are not using a fan year round then may be not. but if like me you do then it does make a difference.

      • On the Kogan DC fan power usage goes from 2 to 25W

Wow 25W max consumption is very low, you usually only see that on the smaller desk fans.

  • This sounds awesome and like it will last.
    I bought one thanks.
I love my fans and use my fan all the time, its always a 20 dollar one they always break on me or just super loud and annoying.

    • +2

The noise is the movement of air, if this thing doesn’t make noise I can guarantee it’s not working.

      • NO not the air. I mean when it turns or shit, it rattles or something its annoying as.

        • use some WD40 or tighten the screws

        • We had one do that, turned out to be the little internal motor that does the oscillating, got a replacement off EBAY for about $5 and that fixed it.

  • +1

Great fan, quieter. And less power means less heat generated.
But is you just want a Kmart cheapie that's fine, no need to go on about it!

    • Fans use like nothing in terms of power, literally measured in single digit watts.

      • +5

Sounds like you're not a fan of this deal?

      • that guy dy4me above, claimed he measured 70w on standard ac fan

      • yea but why let facts get in the way of a good story?

      • If these are just rebranded, Kambrook lists power consumption of their fans on their website:

40cm DC Motor Pedestal Fan - Wattage: 27 Watts

40cm High Velocity Pedestal Fan - Wattage: 80 Watts

40cm Arctic Pedestal Fan - Wattage: 40 Watts

46cm Gunmetal Pedestal Fan - Wattage: 50 Watts

        https://kambrook.com.au/collections/cooling

  • No deal. A/C only for my comfort. I save money so i can spend on the necessities!

Rather get a dyson don't want my fingers chopped off.

    • +9

      how old are you

  • +4

In my view, fans fall under the law of 'diminishing returns', in the same category as toasters etc. I've had a $7 Kmart toaster and $30 Big W industrial style fan at my home for 5+ years each and am satisfied. Each to their own though I suppose.

    • +1

a good fan is like a good bottle of wine.

the $1,000 wine is not 50x better than the $20 bottle.

      • talking from experience there or just an assumption?

        • You think I would make an ass of u and me?

  • -1

Why are people voting up a $90 fan?? Just go to reject shop, big w, Kmart etc and buy any fan for a $20 and it does the same thing.

    • +1

Mate I reckon I could pick up a dozen decent ones off hard rubbish in any given week!

      • +1

And thats a bargain. Not paying 90 bucks for the same thing.

    • +4

The reason I got mine is for the silence. The lowest setting on the cheapies is still quite loud for a bedroom at night, not to mention still quite powerful.

These can ramp down to very slow and near dead silent. I normally use it on speed 5 of the silent settings, which is barely audible but enough air

  • +4

this is actually a copy of the kambrook (KPF849WHT) which i have and is a great fan. The kambrook is almost silent on the lowest settings, and still enough of a breeze at a couple meters. solid base, no vibrations or rattling. The kambrook itself is a replica of a Midea which is supposed to be great too.

in case any one is interested, kogan have a 'non-premium' DC Motor Pedestal Fan, that can be had cheaper. I have one also and it's a cracking little fan. Quiet on low, powerful on high. The extra blades make all the difference. very light weight, but stable base. No vibrations or rattling. simple and straightforward features and remote. I like that you can turn off the lights and button beeps. Only criticism is it makes a slight noise on oscillation. I would go so far as to say for the price i got it (about $80) it's far better than this premium version or the kambrook at their full price.

    • +1

There's no point trying to convince these guys lol. They think this performs exactly like a cheapo k-mart one and has identical build. Probably haven't even seen one in real life.

  • -3

My $14 home brand fan has been with me for 8 years. It's currently blowing room temperature air at me.

  • Can this be controlled via rf/ir module together with home assistant?

  • +2

I can attest to the quality of these fans. 10/10

I paid 109 from kogan about 2-3 months ago and it's fantastic. I've been wanting to get another one for the longue room, so thanks OP!

The only downside of this fan is that there is a reasonably bright blue LED to let you know what speed it's at, and this can be a problem if you have it in your bedroom and are trying to get to sleep.

Much quieter and moves significantly more air then any other pedestal fan I have had in the past, and the ability to turn oscillation on with a remote is pretty sweet.

It's too bad Kogan doesn't pricematch Dickies so I can take advantage of their 30 off 120 spend deals and free shipster, but such is life.

    • Dickies is owned by Kogan. If you watch them, you'll see them swap & change the prices to push traffic to eachother. But i don't think they price match.

I purchased the non-premium kogan fan over this one, because i read you couldn't turn off the display/lights. It's actually a great little unit.

  • Completely off topic, but has anyone tried the Kogan Bladeless fans?

They seem to have identical noise stats to their dyson counterparts but I haven't read any reviews yet.

    • +3

Kogan bladeless was very disappointing, very loud and very low air movement. Regretted purchase as soon as I used it.

  • +3

This isn't really a bargain, because it still is a conventional fan with only 40cm blades.
Those extra features don't add much to the experience, certainly not x5-x10 "better experience" than the standard fans.

What is worth getting are the Industrial metal-mesh fans with a lot more power and larger blade size.
Like the ones shop-keepers have at the entrances. They make a big difference in a small lounge.
    Something like this:
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Heller-75CM-3-Speed-High-Velocit…

    • +1

bajesus! That things is half the size of my loungeroom!

  • +1

bUNNINGS HAVE A PEDESTAL FAN WITH DC MOTOR THAT IS SIMILAR. ITS ABOUT $89 EVERYDAY. NOT SHOWN ON THEIR WEB SITE.

    • +4

      lOL
      cAPSLOCK

  • -5

Rubbish! I would buy Dyson Fan only $500 not made in China

  • Can i use my kogan credit / gift card on this site? or are they considered 2 separate entities?

  • Received mine today. Does the spinning action of anyone else's go off and on constantly or is it a constant spin?

    • Constant spin.
Yours may be faulty if it's anything other…

  • Note these automatically cut out after 12 hours, which can't be adjusted.

Also anyone have any feedback on this question?
