      Apparently with a raspberry pi you can sort of link the Xiaomi stuff to Google home via Home Assistant.

      Xiaomi IR Remote just is a little IR blaster that you can use to control devices with IR receivers e.g. TV or air conditioner. I believe you have to control the IR remote via an app on your phone.

      The Xiaomi Remote Gateway is a smart home hub like Apple Homepod or Smarthings. You can connect other Zigbee enabled Xiaomi peripherals like their wall switches, thermometers, lights, power sockets etc. and you can use the Remote Gateway to control them and set rules for them. Like say I want my lights to turn on when I walk in the door, I can add a motion sensor and a Xiaomi Yeelight to this hub and set a rule of when motion detected, turn on the lights.

      It does more than that, but you get the basic idea.

      Specs are really good for the price. Amlogic processor s905 is compatible with Libreelec, the box has 2 gb ram which should be sufficient for most media capabilities… Has a LAN port (100mbps though) and a couple of USB ports. Overall a good spec'd box for the price.
