  • BangGood too for similar prices

  • Anyone know if this will come with a global rom with play store?

Edit: appears to be global version going by the questions.

    Nah…. dearer than yesterday… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/357165

  • Why no WiFi ac?

  • I cancelled my order - They advised it would be another 10 days before they could ship the item (Despite claiming "ships within 24 hours on the page).

    • Stay away from these pieces of trouble unless you can get the Global ROM installed without vendor crap

I just did a software update today and phone is stuck on boot screen. Can anyone help?

    • +1

Yes, looks like a problem with the Roms shipped with these phones. I've requested a refund from LITB and if no luck try a Paypal dispute.

  • For anyone stuck with the Redmi 5 Plus looping into the recovery mode after the Over The Air (OTA) update: I was successful in unbricking it, using the following technique ( but be aware: your mileage may vary):

It does involve removing the cover to access the test-point, so it is not for everyone. Also I did find it a lot harder to remove the cover than they make it look in the video (I assume they have had more practice).

The first time I tried to un-bricked my Redmi 5+ I re-flashed it with the "Global" ROM but it went straight back into the recover loop. The 2nd time I use the ROM recommended in the first video ( link appears in the description. It is a "Chinese" ROM). This worked. I selected English as my language but some of the system message still come up in Chinese. It does keep telling me that there is an OTA update but I have not been game enough to try. I want to go though the process of unlocking the bootloader first. Based on what I have read in the forums I am more likely to have success this way. But that is a story for another time

Hi Darkwing. How did you get around the wait time for the Unlock to be allowed. Mine says I still have 249 hours to wait!!! I will never buy from this place again. They are not taking any responsibility for selling phones with hacked roms.

      • I'm waiting too. About 9 more days to go…
AFAIK there is no work-around for this, so I'm just waiting it out.
I will, of course, be most disappointed if I try to unlock again in 9 days time only to get a similar message.

        • Yeah - it is almost laughable… I was hoping it would just let you do it, so I try every day. Did you complain to LITB? I have damaged my volume button on the phone when removing the cover too, so sometimes the volume goes down by itself. It is such a shame as the phone was actually a really nice phone when it was running.

Do not buy this phone. You cannot update it or it will brick.
