Without examples of bargains, these vague promises of discounts are merely SPAM,

    • Betta is quite a good store, i don't think this post is SPAM.

      • +1

Read the posting guidelines. There's no example of comparative pricing or discounts, only, as stated, vague promises - until then, it's spam. The rep should know better after 20 posts.

        • -3

that's funny because even though the rep has only made 20 posts, he has nearly twice as many upvotes than your 46 deals.

        • @Savas:

"Hurr durr you didn't get as many internet points!"

          t. Savas

        • @Sir Casm: if anything this deal should be moved to the competitions if you actually read the deal posting guidelines.

          @Savas:

Thing is, you do care pally, so much so you're incredibly butt hurt and spending Australia day having a hissyfit about a forum post…

(I'm at work getting paid stupid money to do not much, ICYWW)

Store reps are generally held to a higher standard, given the thin line between advocacy & advertising - it doesn't take genius to work that out - why you are sticking up for the store instead of the consumer (ie "us" - Ozbargain users) is quite frankly, bizarre.

        • @Sir Casm: I'm not sure why you feel the need to brag about your job. I'd rather be paid less to do something i enjoy.

Going back to the deal - last time a few people used their 30% codes to buy vacuums and dishwashers. I don't see how examples bargains are going to help due to the rarity of the 30% off codes which is a bigger issue.

          @Sir Casm:

I’m not a store rep, I just work in a store. I thought that this deal may help someone who has been looking for something from us but just needed a little more off the price to help them out, a minimum of 5% off is better than nothing when you actually have to buy something! I get that the deal isn’t for you, but 90% of of the deal on OzBargain aren’t for me either. Doesn’t mean that I hammer the person posting it, when all I’m doing is trying to help the wider OzBargain community.

Sorry for trying to join in and help other OzBargainers and not just be a leacher like many other people on OzBargain are!

        Sales, Catalogues and Stores
Deal posts that reference a sale, catalogue or store but don't provide enough information to find at least one bargain, may be unpublished. Deal posts that contains ambiguous or non descriptive titles such as 'up to 50% off sale', 'big clearance' or 'sale' may be unpublished unless specific items are mentioned within the deal description OR a dedicated offer/discount such as '50% off sale' is present (preferably in the title).

          Sorry boss!

  • Burn.

  • +3

Can you confirm how many 30% codes are available OP? Last time this was run not one person said they got one..

    • +1

I only work in a store so don’t have access to those details.

      • +2

        And you call yourself Associated?

        • +7

I thought it was safer to do that than be accused of sock puppeting.

          @Poss81:

Which store do you work in, I'd like to speak with your manager please?

        • -1

          @Poss81:

Voting me down will just make things worse.

        • @Scab:

And just like that, OP’s gone.

    Code isn't working?

    • +6

Congrats, you've just solved the Mystery Discount.

      • +2

        bargain waste of time

    • +1

Mine worked, but it was only ~5% so rather pointless and I won't by buying anything.

    • can't get it working either

  • +1

Well take mine - i realise that their exclusions are stupid.
    CODE:YVOOQ2

  • +1

odds are the 30% codes are restricted to specific items. so even if someone posts I got one maybe the only one for that item lol.

    sucker bet

  • +1

I only got 9%, not using it VT9S36

  • +2

It's a mystery how Betta is still around

  • hmm code looks like might have a lot of restrictions - cant get it work on an aircon. op - any guidance where the coupons can be used?

  • +6

OP at OzBargain the description area resembles a shop window. Yours has been empty 2 hours. Invest 3 minutes adding 4+ example bargains with direct links and obviously prices to maximise Members' interest. Your 'edit' button is between 'view' and 'revisions'.

    • +1

i'm still not sure how the example bargains would help, i've spent the last hour on this and still can't get a 30% code.

      • +1

If OP cannot provide a price, OP hasn't provided a bargain, just a promotion for a mystery discount percentage awarded for email address. Since the entire purpose is to sell goods, which have prices, it is as true as ever to say example bargains with direct links assist shopping but the shop window remains empty. You manage it when posting deals for cornflakes or Hormel's most versatile product; I've done it for goods I dislike such as Pringles and decaffeinated coffee. Associated OP's website has refrigerators costing $3,000+. Just 3 minutes cut-and-paste to create 4+ example bargains and show the price for now, 5% off, 10% off, etc. That would be more productive than saying some other Members are leechers.

        • +1

hahaha i agree. i didn't specifically say this but i'm pretty sure there are no bargains at 5%, 10% or 15% off. Betta has even participated in the 20% off ebay sales, so for people buying direct they should've made it at least 20% - 30%. i don't want to buy anything but i kept getting 5% which is quite pathetic for a "today only" sale.

        • +1

@Savas: You are of course correct. This is indeed a pathetic 5% off promotion masquerading as something better vaguely promising higher discounts, redolent of as Member Sir Casm indicated.

        • +1

@PJC: yep, after my 2 hours of trying to generate a higher code i can conclude it is a scam.

  • +1

OP can you please investigate if there were any codes over 15%? it seems odd that the first time a few people reported the 30% off but the last two times nothing over 15%.

    • +1

Being a public holiday I can’t get thought to head office to confirm this, sorry.

      • +2

nah it's all good, i shouldn't had generated that many codes. i just got curious if there even is a 30% code, i still appreciate you for posting this deal and i hope i don't get into trouble. i'm sure there was a 30% off code but probably extremely rare.

        • +2

I've just reported you for harassing a rep.

  • +1

Negging because even after 10 hours and 480 clicks plus lengthy effort by Member Savas there is still no evidence any Member has discovered a discount exceeding a paltry 5%.

    • haha thank you, i did get 15% off a few times. mostly 5% - 10% which is still misleading since they are advertising 5% - 30% off. their code generator percentage is way too much biased for their interest.

      • +1

can you share the 15% off code?

        • dammit, i didn't write them down. the way i was generating them was in Chrome by clearing history and then changing the user agent. though the code also has a lot of exclusions, i think more than last time. check if it works with a smaller discount first before looking for a larger discount code. also it might be best to try to negotiate with them instore for a better price.
