the more the eat, the cleaner they are. What sort wonderful alternative universe is that? Or does it mean the Big Contraction is happening?

Front loader or top loader kids?

    How many washes for $30?
    Is liquid better than powder?

    • +3

      4L Bottle = Approximately 80 Washes….so 160 washes for $30 dollars

      • +1

Keep going further.. $30 / 160 washes = $0.1875 a wash or 18.75 cents per wash.. not bad imho

Now someone tell me how many washes you get from a lemon laundry powder 4kg box because those are cheaper at roughly $1/kg this is $3.75 / litre which is pretty much a kilo.

I buy the powder but don't actually know which is better for washing and for value etc

    • +1

According to Choice, the normal blue powder is best.

          Javier Pena Approves! ;-)

      • Can link?

  • +2

Thanks OP, just bought 4 😀

  • +2

    Awesome value for 8L!

    Normal 50% discounts, you get 3 bottles x 2L = 6L for $30

  • How does this compare to Dynamo when washing?

    • +7

Omo is the most premium detergent brand in Aus in my understanding though some people like Aldi's Trimat (from quality perspective, leaving price aside). I am not a fan of Aldi's detergents and fabric softners.

A bit of trivia on gloomy Sun eve and end of long weekend: Omo is a Unilever brand vs Dynamo and Cold Power, Henkel brands, which were earlier owned by Colgate-Palmolive.

      • +3

According to choice, ALDI is ranked on par with Omo, at less than half the price even when on sale.

        • +5

Aldi chocolates are often ranked well by Choice.. whole of Australia still prefers Lindt on half price even if it maybe more expensive even at half price.

The point I am making is that Omo liquid detergent @ $3.75/L is a great value and a deal. Those who prefer Aldi can buy anytime as the price is the same always.

        • +1

          @virhlpool: I agree this is a v good deal.

Curious, what's their top ranked chocolate?

        • +2

@TarquinOliverNimrod: They don't do these surveys regularly.. I think the last one was a few yrs ago. Lindt was well rated (top) but Aldi's brand was also not rated bad at all. People don't make their decision based on this stuff though.. what % of consumers would even read these surveys! Very small.

      • +3

        Biozet > omo

        • +2

They aren't even comparable brands.. Omo (Surf family) is a mass brand while Biozet is a niche brand. I would assume Omo sales would be much higher at the national level.

        • +2

I agree. Better and cheaper per wash but doesn’t bring the votes.

Doesn’t mean VHS is better than BETAmax

        • +2

@Steptoe: Lol.. it actually means so. haha..

How does sales have anything to do with which one is actually better?

        • -1

          @Steptoe:
Wrong. Quite inferior in the last choice test.

        • +2

@p1 ama: I didn't mean that sales have anything to do with one being better. It simply relates to the fact that one is a mass market brand whilst other isn't.

        • I always use Biozet powder (2kg for $10 on sale).

          https://www.choice.com.au/laundrydetergent

They didn't test Biozet powder but their liquids didn't fair well in the test.

I also note Biozet powder (for Australia) isn't made in Japan anymore, now made in Taiwan. I'm a sucker for Japanese made goods.

        • @JB1:

They have tested it before and it's behind other major brands including Almat and Coles ultra.

        • @bogstation:

I think I'll switch to Almat Trimat Advanced Laundry Powder Concentrate.

Seems to be the equal best.

  • +2

The lowest price of Omo liquid detergent I have seen ever.. normal sale price (@half price promotion) is $10 for 2L, i.e. $5/L. This one is $3.75/L.

    • Don't forget to use 5% discounted GCs for extra savings. lol

    • +1

Last week Coles was $9.50 for 2L. So $4.75 per L is cheapest. But OP offer takes the cake

  • Dynamo is on special @ Coles, $8.75for 2L

    • Yes, but it's at that price quite often.

    • This is better?

  • +4

Congrats on the 100th post OzSikh. And looking forward to your 100th deal with your very next post :)

  • Does anyone know if this washes well with cold water?

We only use Cold Power because we elect to use cold water only. This is cheaper than Cold Power when half priced at $5/L.

    • Would also like to know this.

I only ever cold wash, just got some Cold Power and it does seem a lot better than the cheaper Surf I used to always get.

Are there specific cold wash options that are clearly better?

    • Cold Power is also on special. https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/545639/col… Works out at $3.95/l

    • Whoa! I never even knew there is special laundry powder for cold water washing. I have been using Omo for years but with cold water.

      • +1

I think it's just marketing…Omo probably still washes better in cold water than Cold Power…Omo is the best out there…

        Aldi Trimat comes very close.

Overall though, I prefer powder to liquids. They say continued use of liquids in front loading washing machines can cause sludge build up.

  • +1

    Congrats mate

  • +1

    WHEN DOES IT START?!!!

    In store too?

    • Online only :((

      • +1

        Free Click & Collect?

  • +1

    Is this online only?

  • Is this bundle available for Omo Sensitive Liquid too? I can’t seem to find it through Woolworths search. In fact, I can’t even find this bundle through their search!

    • Doesn't look like it. Sensitive is showing up on sale at $20 for 4 litres.

  • +2

Can confirm that this is online only.

I went in-store just now and saw that they're advertised for $20 each. The staff there said it's online only too.

  • +1

    Thanks op. Bought 2

    • +1

16L Omo bath for ya.. :)

  • One can't be for both front and top load. I hear aldi is one of the best.

  • -4

    Sick post dude.
    congrats on 100
unfortunately no discount codes are available to sweeten the deal.

  • +1

Thanks for posting a great deal.

  • -4

Looks likes its expired - just showing up as $20 now.
Odd - it only shows up in the link above (which is active as I jusy bought it), but if you just add 2 of the bottles it doesn't add the extra disount.

  • I can only get this deal via the link. Only single purchase at $20 is available via the app. Thanks OP

  • I heard in the past Liquid Detergents are not good for front loader washing machines because of residues?

    I’ve always been using powder,

    • What's no good imo is that capsule looking thing. It never dissolved or if it does, the plastic thing that covers the detergent inside still intact.

  • +2

You should be able to get 16L for $50 using "BDAY17" if you haven't used it before and have purchased before on your WW account if you require that much lol :)

  • This item is currently not sold at the store that services your location.

  • Isn't Aldi detergent better value?

  • I prefer Omo powder…I've read continued use of liquid detergent can cause sludge.

Powders have better cleaning results too.

Omo is the best according to Choice whilst Aldi's Trimat (not Almat) is very close 2nd at cheaper price.

    • that's what I thought, liquids ain't that good, especially in cold cycle. I use ALDI Trimat and put only 2/3 of the recommended dose, and the result is always good.

  • buy the gift card of $30 and will take the price to $28.50. Do pick up from your store

    • +4

Why not always keep gift card handy so that you don't have to purchase at the last moment when you gotta order something?

  • 2018 we still don't have good comprehensive thorough fully done studies on washing powder versus washing liquid for laundry washing complete with value and cost analysis.. sigh

    • Ask and you shall receive.. https://www.choice.com.au/laundrydetergent

      • No offense to choices but I prefer even more independent third party more thorough sources just feels more legit and properly done choice feels kind of amateurish leaving out a lot of the explanations of the process out of it.

  • Did they remove it?!??!?!

  • Woolworths is claiming no knowledge of this deal!

    • was removed around 3pm qld time

  • deal seems to be dead now .

  • I mysteriously only received 1 if the 2 I ordered with an ‘out of stock’ notification and a $15 store credit

    • I ordered 2 for 60
Got the same notification says out of stock one of them mind you there was shit load of it in the store pick up.
      And credit $30.
